নিজস্ব প্রতিবেদক : ঢাকা-ঝালকাঠি রুটে চলাচলকারী এমভি সুন্দরবন লঞ্চ ঝালকাঠির পথে চলছে। লঞ্চের একটি কেবিন কক্ষে ইডেন মহিলা কলেজের ছাত্রী সায়মা কালাম মেঘা ও তার প্রেমিক মাহিবী হাসান। পুরো কক্ষ লাল বেলুনে ভর্তি। চলছে কেক কাটা আর পার্টি স্প্রে ছিটিয়ে মাহিবীর জন্মদিন উদযাপন।
কেক কাটা শেষ হতেই উচ্ছ্বসিত মেঘা প্রেমিক মাহিবীকে বলেন, ‘উইল ইউ ম্যারি মি?’ মাহিবীর উত্তর, ‘ইয়েস। ’ এরপর মেঘা ‘কবুল’ বলতে বললে তিনবার কবুলও বলেন মাহিবী। পরে জন্মদিনের উপহার হিসেবে প্রেমিকের আঙুলে আংটি পরিয়ে দেন মেঘা। এরপর চলে একজন আরেক জনের খুনসুটির গল্প। মেঘার মুঠোফোন দিয়ে করা ভিডিওতে এসব দৃশ্য দেখা যায়। মেঘা ও মাহিবীর এ রকম লঞ্চযাত্রা ছিল নিয়মিত ঘটনা।
সায়মা কালাম মেঘার গ্রামের বাড়ি ঝালকাঠি সদর উপজেলার শ্মশান ঘাট রোডে। ইডেন কলেজের সমাজকল্যাণ বিভাগে পড়তেন তিনি। মেঘার পাশের ভিআইপি রোডের বাসিন্দা মাহিবী হাসান। বরিশালের হাতেম আলী কলেজে লেখাপড়া করতেন। তার বাবার নাম মৃত নফিজুর রহমান।
ঝালকাঠিতে থাকাকালে ২০১৬ সালে দুজনের মধ্যে প্রেমের সম্পর্ক গড়ে ওঠে। সময়ের সঙ্গে সঙ্গে এই সম্পর্ক আরও গভীর হয়। নিয়মিত কথা চলত মুঠোফোনে। একসময় মুঠোফোনের মাধ্যমে মজার ছলে বিয়েও করেন তারা। সেই ফোন রেকর্ডিংয়ে প্রথমে মাহিবী বলেন, ‘আবুল কালাম আজাদের মেয়ে সায়মা কালাম মেঘাকে ২০০১ টাকা দেনমোহর দিয়ে আমি মাহিবী হাসান বিবাহ করিলাম।’ এরপর তিনবার কবুল বলেন মাহিবী। একইভাবে সায়মা কালাম মেঘাও কবুল বলেন।
সায়মা কালাম মেঘা ২০১৭ সালে ইডেন মহিলা কলেজে ভর্তি হয়। এরপর থেকে মাহিবী প্রায়ই ঢাকায় যাওয়া-আসা করতেন। মেঘা থাকতেন রাজধানীর কাঁঠালবাগান এলাকায়। মাহিবী হাসান থাকতেন ঝালকাঠির নিজেদের বাড়িতে। মাহিবী ঢাকায় এলে দুজন একসঙ্গে কেনাকাটা করতেন, আত্মীয়-স্বজনের বাসায় সময় কাটাতেন। শেষে মেঘাকে নিয়ে লঞ্চের কেবিনে করে ঝালকাঠির পথে রওনা হতেন।
একটা সময় মেঘা আর মাহিবীর এই সম্পর্কের কথা জেনে যায় দুজনের পরিবার। বিয়ের ব্যাপারেও সম্মতি দেয় তারা। পরিবারের সম্মতিতে মেলামেশা আরও বাড়তে থাকে তাদের। কিন্তু পরে মাহিবীর মা তাদের এ সম্পর্ক মেনে নিতে চাননি। তাই তারা দুবার বিয়ের প্রস্তুতি নিয়েও সম্পন্ন করতে পারেননি। বিয়ের প্রস্তুতি হিসেবে কেনাকাটাও করেছিলেন মেঘা। বিয়ে উপলক্ষে চলতি বছরের মার্চ মাসের মাঝামাঝি সময়ে মেঘা তার বন্ধুদের দাওয়াত দিলেও বিভিন্ন অজুহাত দেখিয়ে সময়মতো আসেননি মাহিবী।
এরপর শুরু হয় মাহিবী আর মেঘার মধ্যে ঝগড়া। মেঘাকে অপমান ও কটু কথা বলে মানসিক নির্যাতন করতে থাকেন মাহিবী। একটা সময় মেঘাকে বলেন, ‘আমার বিদেশ যেতে ১০ লাখ টাকা লাগবে। তোমার বাবার কাছ থেকে এই টাকা এনে দেবে, না হলে তোমাকে বিয়ে করা আমার সম্ভব না।’ এই কথা মেঘা তার মা রুবিনাকে জানালে তিনি গত ১৫ এপ্রিল মাহিবীর বাড়িতে গিয়ে তার পরিবারের লোকজনকে জানান।
পরে মাহিবীর মা ঝালকাঠির কীর্তিপাশা হাসপাতালের নার্স সেলিনা নফিজ কোনো শর্ত ছাড়াই ছেলের বিয়ে দিতে রাজি হন। তবে প্রথমে রাজি হলেও পরে আবার মুখ ফিরিয়ে নেন মাহিবীর মা। এরপর মেঘাকে এড়িয়ে চলতে শুরু করেন মাহিবী। এতে পুরোপুরি হতাশ হয়ে পড়েন মেঘা। বেছে নেন আত্মহত্যার পথ।
চলতি বছরের ২১ এপ্রিল। আত্মহত্যার আগে কাঁঠালবাগানের বাসায় বসে মেঘা নিজের হাত কেটে তা ভিডিওকলে মাহিবীকে দেখান। তবু বেঁচে থাকার উৎসাহ না পেয়ে কিছু সময় পর ঘরের ফ্যানের সঙ্গে গলায় ওড়না পেঁচিয়ে ঝুলে পড়েন মেঘা। সেই দৃশ্যও মাহিবী হাসান দেখেন ভিডিও কলের মাধ্যমে। এ ঘটনা ঘটে ওইদিন বিকাল ৫টার দিকে। ৫টা ৯ মিনিটে মেঘার মা রুবিনা বেগমকে মুঠোফোনে এ ঘটনা জানায় মাহিবী হাসান।
মৃত্যুর আগে ‘সুইসাইড নোট’ লিখে যান মেঘা। ওই সুইসাইড নোটে তিনি লেখেন, ‘আমি বাঁচতে চাইছিলাম, কিন্তু মাহিবী আর ওর মা আমারে বাঁচতে দেয় নাই। আমি মাহিবীর কাছে বারবার কুত্তার মতো যাই, আর ওর মা-বোন আমারে যা তা বলে। আব্বু-আম্মু আমারে মাফ কইরা দিও। আমার লাশের আশপাশেও যেন মাহিবী আসতে না পারে।’
প্রথমে অপমৃত্যু ও পরে আদালতে হত্যা মামলা দায়ের:
ঘটনার দিন অনেক তথ্য-প্রমাণই মেঘার পরিবারের কাছে ছিল না। সে জন্য সেদিন মেঘার চাচা আবুল বাসার ঢাকা মহানগর পুলিশের (ডিএমপি) কলাবাগান থানায় একটি অপমৃত্যুর মামলা করেন। পরে সায়মা কালাম মেঘার মুঠোফোনের যাবতীয় তথ্য-প্রমাণ হাতে পায় তার পরিবার। পরে মেঘার পরিবার মাহিবী হাসানের বিরুদ্ধে কলাবাগান থানায় হত্যা মামলা করতে গেলে মামলা নেওয়া হয়নি। থানা থেকে মেঘার পরিবারকে বলা হয়, ‘ময়না তদন্তের প্রতিবেদন না পেলে হত্যা মামলা নেওয়া সম্ভব না।’ এসব কথা জানান মেঘার মা রুবিনা বেগম।
রুবিনা বেগম বলেন, পরে দুই মাস ঢাকা মেডিকেলে ঘুরেছি। কিন্তু ময়না তদন্তের রিপোর্ট পাইনি। এরপর ২ জুলাই ঢাকার নারী ও শিশু নির্যাতন দমন ট্রাইব্যুনালে মামলা করা হয়। মামলায় আসামি করা হয় মাহিবী হাসান (২৫), তার মা সেলিনা নফিজ (৫০), বোন নওরীন বন্যা (১৮) ও সুব্রত দাসকে (২৫)। এরপর মামলাটি পুলিশ ব্যুরো অব ইনভেস্টিগেশনের (পিবিআই) কাছে হস্তান্তর করেন আদালত। ২০ সেপ্টেম্বর আদালতে মামলার অভিযোগপত্র দাখিল করে পিবিআই। সেখানে শুধু মাহিবীকে আসামি করে বাকি তিনজনকে অব্যাহতি দিয়ে অভিযোগপত্র দাখিল করা হয়।
তিনি আরও বলেন, অথচ এ ঘটনায় মাহিবীর মা খুব ভালোভাবে জড়িত। মাহিবীর মা আমার মেয়েকে বিভিন্ন সময় গালি দেন এবং মরে যেতে বলেন। সেসব প্রমাণও আমাদের কাছে আছে। এরপর ২২ সেপ্টেম্বর মাহিবীর মা আমাদের বিরুদ্ধে জিডি করেন। ২৮ সেপ্টেম্বর আমি পিবিআইর দেওয়া রিপোর্টের বিরুদ্ধে আদালতে পিটিশন করি। কারণ, মাহিবীর মা আমার মেয়ে হত্যার প্ররোচনা দেওয়ার জন্য জড়িত, সেই প্রমাণ আমার কাছে ছিল। দুদিন পর বিচারক আবার পিবিআইর দেওয়া প্রতিবেদনের বিরুদ্ধে গিয়ে মাহিবী, তার মা ও বোনের বিরুদ্ধে গ্রেফতারি পরোয়ানা জারি করেন।
মেঘার মা আরও বলেন, ৩ অক্টোবর সেই গ্রেফতারি পরোয়ানা আমাদের ঝালকাঠি থানায় পাঠিয়ে দেন আদালত। কিন্তু কাউকেই গ্রেফতার করেনি পুলিশ। পুলিশকে বারবার জানানো হলেও তারা কোনো ব্যবস্থা নেয়নি। মাহিবীর এক আত্মীয় আছেন, যিনি পুলিশ ইন্সপেক্টর। তিনি যোগাযোগ আর টাকা-পয়সা দিয়ে পুলিশকে সামাল দিয়েছেন এবং ভেতরে ভেতরে আমাদের সঙ্গে সমঝোতার চেষ্টা করেছেন।
জামিন পেয়ে মেঘার পরিবারকে হুমকি:
ঝালকাঠিতে মেঘার পরিবারের সঙ্গে সমঝোতা চেষ্টার একপর্যায়ে গত ২৬ নভেম্বর ঢাকায় এসে আত্মসমর্পণ করে জামিন আবেদন করেন মাহিবী, তার মা সেলিনা নফিজ ও বোন নওরিন বন্যা। তখন আদালত মাহিবী হাসানকে গ্রেফতার দেখিয়ে কারাগারে পাঠান এবং তার মা ও বোনকে জামিন দেন। ২৬ নভেম্বর জামিন পাওয়ার পর মাহিবীর মা ও বোন মেঘার পরিবারকে হুমকি দিতে থাকেন। এতে আতঙ্কিত হয়ে পড়ে মেঘার পরিবার। এমনকি মেঘার বাবা ও ভাইকে মাদক মামলায় ফাঁসিয়ে দেওয়ার হুমকিও দেওয়া হয় বলে অভিযোগ করেন মেঘার মা।
তিনি আরও বলেন, গত ২ ডিসেম্বর ঝালকাঠি নির্বাহী ম্যাজিস্ট্রেট আদালতে ১০৭ ধারায় একটি হুমকির মামলা করেছেন মেঘার বাবা আবুল কালাম আজাদ।
