ফরাসি সংবাদমাধ্যম এএফপি জানায়, আন্তর্জাতিক আদালতের শুনানি থেকে রোহিঙ্গা মুসলিমদের ওপর গণহত্যা চালানো বন্ধ করতে মিয়ানমারকে আহ্বান জানানো হয়েছে। শুনানির প্রথম দিন এই আহ্বানের সম্মুখীন হয়েছেন মিয়ানমারের প্রতিনিধি অং সান সু চি।

হেগের আন্তর্জাতিক আদালতে গাম্বিয়ার করা মামলায় এ দিন রোহিঙ্গাদের ওপর নৃশংসতার বিভিন্ন চিত্র তুলে ধরা হয়। এ সময় স্তব্ধ হয়ে বসে ছিলেন সু চি। বুধবার শুনানির দ্বিতীয় দিনে তিনি নিজেদের অবস্থান পরিষ্কার করতে পারেন বলে ধারণা করা হচ্ছে।

শুনানিতে গাম্বিয়ার বিচারমন্ত্রী আবুবাকার তাম্বাদৌ আন্তর্জাতিক আদালতের বিচারকদের উদ্দেশে বলেন, মিয়ানমারকে এ রকম নির্দয় হত্যাযজ্ঞ বন্ধ করতে বলুন। তাদের বর্বরতা বন্ধ করতে বলুন, যা আমাদের সবার বিবেককে নাড়া দিচ্ছে। মিয়ানমারকে তাদের নিজেদের লোকদের ওপর গণহত্যা চালানো বন্ধ করতে বলুন।

মঙ্গলবার বাংলাদেশ সময় বিকাল ৩টার পর এই শুনানি শুরু হয়। এতে মিয়ানমারের প্রতিনিধি হিসেবে অংশ নেন দেশটির গণতন্ত্রকামী নেতা অং সান সু চি। সু চি তার দেশীয় পোশাক পরেই আদালতে এসেছেন। তবে তিনি সাংবাদিকদের সঙ্গে কোনো কথা বলেননি। দেশটির গণতন্ত্রকামী এই নেতা মিয়ানমারের সামরিক একনায়কের বিরুদ্ধে লড়াইয়ের কারণে নোবেল শান্তি পুরস্কার পেয়েছিলেন।

প্রসঙ্গত, ২০১৭ সালে মিয়ানমারের রাখাইন রাজ্যে বিশাল সামরিক অভিযান চালায় দেশটির সেনাবাহিনী। এতে প্রায় ৭ লাখ ৫০ হাজার রোহিঙ্গা ওই রাজ্য থেকে পালিয়ে বাংলাদেশে আশ্রয় নেয়। মূলত এই অভিযান নিয়েই ১০ থেকে ১২ ডিসেম্বর আন্তর্জাতিক আদালতের শুনানিতে অংশ নেবেন সু চি।
