নিজস্ব প্রতিবেদক : পররাষ্ট্রমন্ত্রী ড. একে আব্দুল মোমেন বলেছেন, বঙ্গবন্ধুর জন্মশতবার্ষিকীর বছরে বিদেশে পালিয়ে থাকা দুই খুনিকে স্বদেশে ফিরিয়ে এনে বিচার কার্যকর করা হবে।

রোববার (২২ ডিসেম্বর) রাজধানীর জাতীয় প্রেসক্লাবে বাংলাদেশ মুক্তিযোদ্ধা সংসদ কেন্দ্রীয় কমান্ড আয়োজিত ‘নবমবারের মতো শেখ হাসিনা আওয়ামী লীগের সভাপতি নির্বাচিত হওয়ায় মুক্তিযোদ্ধাদের অভিনন্দন’ শীষর্ক আলোচনা সভায় পররাষ্ট্রমন্ত্রী এ কথা বলেন।

পররাষ্ট্রমন্ত্রী ড. এ কে আব্দুল মোমেন বলেন, প্রধানমন্ত্রী দেশের হাল ধরায় সব ক্ষেত্রে এগিয়েছে দেশ। দেশে আইনের শাসন ছিলো না, তিনি বঙ্গবন্ধুর খুনি ও যুদ্ধাপরাধীদের বিচারের মাধ্যমে দেখিয়েছেন আইনের ঊর্ধ্বে কেউ নয়। অপরাধ করলে তার বিচার হবেই।

তিনি বলেন, বঙ্গবন্ধুর খুনিদের বিচার হয়েছে। তবে এখন অনেকের কার্যকর হয়নি। কেউ কেউ বিদেশে পালিয়ে রয়েছে। আমরা জাতির পিতার জন্মশতবার্কীতে পালিয়ে থাকা দুই খুনিকে দেশে ফিরিয়ে আনবো। তাদের একজন আমেরিকায় বসবাস করছে, অন্যজন ইংল্যান্ডে আছে। আমি সেসব দেশে অবস্থানরত বাংলাদেশিদের আহ্বান জানিয়েছি, তারা যেন এই ঘাতকদের বাড়ির সামনে এসে বলে তোমরা দেশে ফিরে যাও, তোমাদের ক্ষমা নাই। তাহলে তারা অন্তত ভয়ের মধ্যে থাকে, যেন ভীতির সৃষ্টি হয়- ইসরায়েলে এটা করে থাকে।

‘তিনি বিচ্ছিন্ন আওয়ামী লীগকে এক করেছেন, দেশকে বসিয়েছেন এক উচ্চতর আসনে। দেশের সামগ্রিক উন্নয়নের ধারা অব্যাহত রাখতে হলে শেখ হাসিনার কোনো বিকল্প নেই। তার হাতকে শক্তিশালী করতে হবে।’

মুক্তিযোদ্ধা আব্দুল হাইয়ের সভাপতিত্বে আয়োজিত অনুষ্ঠানে আরও বক্তব্য রাখেন সাবেক সচিব মোজাম্মেল হক, মুক্তিযোদ্ধা সংসদ কেন্দ্রীয় কমান্ডের সভাপতি শফিকুর রহমান টিপু, কেন্দ্রীয় নেতা আশরাফুল ইসলাম, হুমায়ন আহমেদ, ফরিদুল ইসলাম, এম এ করিম প্রমুখ।
