আন্তর্জাতিক ডেস্ক : বিতর্কিত নাগরিকত্ব আইন বাতিলের দাবিতে ভারতে কোনো ধরনের আজাদি স্লোগান দিলেই তাদের দেশদ্রোহী হিসেবে গণ্য করা হবে। এমনটাই হুঁশিয়ারি দিয়েছেন উত্তরপ্রদেশের মুখ্যমন্ত্রী যোগী আদিত্যনাথ। শুধু তাই নয়, এবার বিক্ষোভকারীদের শক্ত হাতে প্রতিহত করা হবে বলেও জানিয়েছেন তিনি।

বুধবার (২২ জানুয়ারি) কানপুরে সংশোধিত নাগরিকত্ব আইনের পক্ষে আয়োজিত এক সমাবেশে অংশ নিয়েই তিনি বার্তাটি দেন।

কলকাতাভিত্তিক গণমাধ্যম আনন্দবাজার জানায়, সম্প্রতি লখনৌর বিখ্যাত ক্লক টাওয়ারের নিচে ধর্মভিত্তিক বিতর্কিত আইনটি বাতিলের দাবিতে লক্ষাধিক জনতা বিক্ষোভ করেন। মূলত সেখানেই বিক্ষুব্ধ আন্দোলনকারীরা ‘আজাদি’ ‘আজাদি’ বলে স্লোগান দিতে থাকেন।

যোগী বলেছেন, এখন থেকে আর কেউ যদি আজাদি স্লোগান দেয় তাহলে বিষয়টিকে দেশদ্রোহিতার মতো অপরাধ বলে গণ্য করা হবে। তাই সরকার এর বিরুদ্ধে কঠোর পদক্ষেপ নেবে।

তিনি আরও বলেন, ভারতের মাটিতে দাঁড়িয়ে এই দেশের বিরুদ্ধেই ষড়যন্ত্র। এমন ঘটনা কোনোভাবে মেনে নেওয়া হবে না। যারা এই প্রচেষ্টাটি করছে তারা কোনোদিন ছাড় পাবে না।

উল্লেখ্য, উত্তরপ্রদেশে এর আগেও সংশোধিত নাগরিকত্ব আইনের প্রতিবাদে জোড়ালে বিক্ষোভ হয়েছিল। পুলিশ প্রতিবারই সশস্ত্র হামলার মাধ্যমে জনগণের সেই আন্দোলনকে দমন করেছে। এমনকি বিভিন্ন সময় তারা গুলি পর্যন্ত চালিয়েছে বলে অভিযোগ রয়েছে।
