নিজস্ব প্রতিবেদক : পশ্চিমবঙ্গের জনপ্রিয় অভিনেতা ও তৃণমূল কংগ্রেসের এমপি তাপস পাল আর নেই। মঙ্গলবার (১৮ ফেব্রুয়ারি) ভোররাত ৩টা ৩৫ মিনিটে মুম্বাইয়ে হৃদরোগে আক্রান্ত হয়ে শেষ নিশ্বাস ত্যাগ করেন তিনি । মৃত্যুকালে তার বয়স হয়েছিল ৬১ বছর।

জানা যায়, গত ২৮ জানুয়ারি মেয়ে সোহিনী পালের কাছে মুম্বাইয়ে গিয়েছিলেন অভিনেতা তাপস পাল।

কিডনির চিকিৎসার জন্য ১ ফেব্রুয়ারি মার্কিন যুক্তরাষ্ট্রে যাওয়ার কথা ছিল তাপল পালের। কিন্তু বিমান ধরার আগে অসুস্থ হয়ে পড়লে মুম্বাইয়ের বান্দ্রার একটি বেসরকারি হাসপাতালে ভর্তি করা হয়েছিল তাকে।

এরপর অবস্থার অবনতি ঘটলে ভেন্টিলেশনে রাখা হয়েছিল তাকে। কিন্তু শেষরক্ষা হলো না। অনেক দিন ধরেই স্নায়ুজনিত সমস্যায় ভুগছিলেন তিনি।

তাপস পাল ১৯৫৮ সালে ভারতের পশ্চিমবঙ্গের কলকাতায় জন্মগ্রহণ করেন। তিনি ২০০৯ সালের ভারতীয় সাধারণ নির্বাচনে তৃণমূল কংগ্রেস থেকে টিকিট নিয়ে নির্বাচিত হয়ে কৃষ্ণনগর থেকে এমপি হন।

তাপস পাল বর্ধমান বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের অধীনে হুগলী মহসিন কলেজ থেকে জীববিজ্ঞানে গ্র্যাজুয়েট করেন।

১৯৮০ সালে তরুণ মজুমদার পরিচালিত ‘দাদার কীর্তি’ চলচ্চিত্রে অভিনয়ের মাধ্যমে চলচ্চিত্র পাড়ায় অভিষেক হয় তাপস পালের। ২২ বছর বয়সে মুক্তি পায় তার অভিনীত এই চলচ্চিত্রটি। ‘গুরুদক্ষিণা’ ছবির জন্য তাকে আজীবন মনে রাখবে বাংলার দর্শকমহল। ।

মায়া মমতা’, ‘সুরের ভুবনে’ ‘সমাপ্তি’ ‘চোখের আলো’,’অন্তরঙ্গ’ সাহেব’ প্রভৃতি বিখ্যাত বাংলা সিনেমায় তিনি অভিনয় করেছিলেন। ১৯৮১ সালে সাহেব ছবির জন্য তিনি পান ফিল্ম ফেয়ার অ্যাওয়ার্ড। বাংলার মতো বলিউডের ছবিতেও কাজ করছেন তাপস পাল। অবোধ ছবিতে মাধুরী দীক্ষিতের বিপরীতে অভিনয় করেছেন তিনি।
