স্পোর্টস ডেস্ক : বাংলাদেশের টেস্ট ক্রিকেটের ইতিহাসে অনেক কিছুর সাক্ষী হয়ে আছেন মুশফিকুর রহিম। দেশের টেস্টের প্রথম ডাবল সেঞ্চুরিটি এসেছে তার ব্যাট থেকেই। ব্যাটটি এতদিন নিজের কাছে থাকলেও করোনা ভাইরাসের ক্ষতিগ্রস্তদের পাশে দাঁড়াতে কিছুদিন আগেই এই ব্যাটটি নিলামে তোলার সিদ্ধান্ত নিয়েছিলেন তিনি। তার ঐতিহাসিক এই ব্যাটের অনলাইনে নিলাম শুরু হবে শনিবার রাত ১০টায়, চলবে মঙ্গলবার রাত ১০টা পর্যন্ত।
গত ১৯ এপ্রিল গণমাধ্যমে মুশফিক নিজের ব্যাট নিলামে তোলার বিষয়টি নিশ্চিত করেন। যেখানে ২০১৩ সালে গল টেস্টে স্বাগতিক শ্রীলঙ্কার বিপক্ষে বাংলাদেশের হয়ে প্রথম ডাবল সেঞ্চুরির দেখা পান তিনি। ২০০ করেই মুশফিক আউট হয়েছিলেন।
নিলামের পুরো আয়োজনটির নাম রাখা হয়েছে ‘স্পোর্টস ফর লাইফ।’ উদ্যোগটি যৌথভাবে পরিচালনা করছে নিবকো স্পোর্টস ম্যানেজমেন্ট, ই-কমার্স প্রতিষ্ঠান ‘পিকাবো’ ও বেসরকারি উন্নয়ন সংস্থা ব্র্যাক।
শনিবার রাত ১০টায় স্পোর্টস ফর লাইফের অফিসিয়াল ফেসবুক পাতায় (https://www.facebook.com/SportsForLifeOfficial/ ) অনলাইন কনফারেন্সে নিলামের উদ্বোধন করবেন মুশফিক ও আকবর। চার দিন ধরে নিলাম চলবে পিকাবোর সাইটে (http://www.pickaboo.com/sportsforlife.html) ।
এদিকে মুশফিকের ব্যাট ছাড়াও নিলামে উঠছে গত বছর আয়ারল্যান্ডে ত্রিদেশীয় সিরিজের ফাইনালে ম্যাচ জেতানো ইনিংস উপহার দেওয়া মোসাদ্দেক হোসেনের ব্যাট।
নিলাম থেকে পাওয়া অর্থের একটি অংশ দিয়ে ব্র্যাকের মাধ্যমে সহায়তা করা হবে দুঃস্থদের। বাকি অংশ দিয়ে নিলামে তোলা ক্রিকেটাররা সহায়তা করবেন নিজ উদ্যোগে।
ব্যাট নিলামে তোলা প্রসঙ্গে মুশফিক বলেন, ‘ব্যাটটি অবশ্যই আমার কাছে স্পেশাল হয়ে আছে। এই ব্যাট দিয়েই এরকম একটা ইতিহাসের সঙ্গে নিজের নাম জড়িয়ে আছে, চাইলেও অনেকের এমন কিছুর সৌভাগ্য হয় না। প্রথম তো একজনই হয়, প্রথম ডাবল সেঞ্চুরিয়ান তো আর কেউ হতে পারবে না। আমার খুবই পছন্দের একটি ব্যাট এটি। কিন্তু জীবনের চেয়ে তো আর বড় কিছু হতে পারে না। তাই এটিই নিলামে তুলতে যাচ্ছি।’
তিনি আরও বলেন, ‘আমার এই ত্যাগের কারণে যদি অন্য মানুষের উপকার হয়, এই খারাপ সময়ে তারা কিছু সাহায্য পায়, তাহলে সেটিই আমার জন্য হবে বড় পাওয়া।’
প্রসঙ্গত, দেশের ক্রিকেটের এমন চরিত্রের ৩৩তম জন্মদিন আজ। ১৯৮৭ সালের ৯ মে বগুড়ার মাটিডালিতে জন্মগ্রহণ করেছেন মুশফিক। তবে তার সার্টিফিকেটগত জন্মদিন ৯ জুন। যে কারণে প্রতিবছর মুশফিকের জন্মদিন নিয়ে একটা দোটানার সৃষ্টি হয় সবার মাঝে। তবে মুশফিক নিজেই নিশ্চিত করেছেন, তার জন্মদিন আজকের তারিখ অর্থাৎ ৯ মে।
