এই নিয়ে এ পর্যন্ত পুলিশে আক্রান্তের সংখ্যা দাঁড়িয়েছে ১৫৯৪ জনে। গত শনিবার পর্যন্ত করোনায় আক্রান্তের সংখ্যা ছিল ১৫০৯। পাশাপাশি করোনাযুদ্ধে এ পর্যন্ত মারা গেছেন ৭ জন পুলিশ সদস্য।

রবিবার (১০ মে) পুলিশ সদর দপ্তর সূত্রে এসব তথ্যের পাশাপাশি আরো জানা গেছে, সারাদেশের পুলিশ ইউনিটের তথ্য অনুযায়ী, আক্রান্তদের মধ্যে ঢাকা মেট্রোপলিটন পুলিশের (ডিএমপি) সদস্যই ৭৪৫ জন। এদের মধ্যে মাঠ পর্যায়ের পুলিশ সদস্যই বেশি। তবে করোনায় মাঠপর্যায়ের সদস্য ছাড়াও ডিএমপির দুই জন অতিরিক্ত উপ-পুলিশ কমিশনার (এডিসি) ও একজন সহকারী পুলিশ কমিশনার (এসি) পদমর্যাদার কর্মকর্তা আক্রান্ত হয়েছেন।

সারাদেশের পুলিশের বিভিন্ন ইউনিটের তথ্য উপাত্ত থেকে জানা গেছে, পুলিশে করোনা আক্রান্ত সন্দেহে আরও ১০৮৯ জনকে আইসোলেশনে রাখা হয়েছে। আক্রান্তদের সংস্পর্শে আসায় ২৮৭০ জন কর্মকর্তাকে কোয়ারেন্টিনে রাখা হয়েছে। এ পর্যন্ত ১৪৭ জন পুলিশ সদস্য সুস্থ হয়ে বাড়ি ফিরেছেন।
