নিজস্ব প্রতিবেদক : বঙ্গোপসাগরে সৃষ্ট ঘূর্ণিঝড় ‘আম্ফান’ সরাসরি বাংলাদেশ ভূখণ্ডে আঘাত হানতে পারে বলে জানিয়েছে আবহাওয়া অধিদফতর। তারা বলছে, খুলনা ও চট্টগ্রামের মধ্যবর্তী অঞ্চল দিয়ে আগামী মঙ্গলবার (১৯ মে) শেষরাত থেকে বুধবার (২০ মে) বিকেল অথবা সন্ধ্যার মধ্যে বাংলাদেশের উপকূল অতিক্রম করতে পারে।
সোমবার (১৮ মে) ভোর ৬টার তথ্য বিশ্লেষণ করে বিশেষ বিজ্ঞপ্তিতে বাংলাদেশ আবহাওয়া অধিদফতর এসব তথ্য জানায়।
এতে বলা হয়, দক্ষিণপূর্ব বঙ্গোপসাগর ও তৎসংলগ্ন দক্ষিণপশ্চিম বঙ্গোপসাগর এলাকায় অবস্থানরত অতি প্রবল ঘূর্ণিঝড় ‘আম্ফান’ উত্তর দিকে অগ্রসর হয়ে বর্তমানে পশ্চিম মধ্য বঙ্গোপসাগর ও তৎসংলগ্ন দক্ষিণ বঙ্গোপসাগর এলাকায় অবস্থান করছে।
এটি আজ (১৮ মে) সকাল ৬টায় চট্টগ্রাম সমুদ্রবন্দর থেকে ১ হাজার ১৫০ কিলোমিটার দক্ষিণ-দক্ষিণপশ্চিমে, কক্সবাজার সমুদ্রবন্দর থেকে ১ হাজার ৯০ কিলোমিটার দক্ষিণ-দক্ষিণপশ্চিমে, মোংলা সমুদ্রবন্দর থেকে ১ হাজার ৭০ কিলোমিটার দক্ষিণ-দক্ষিণপশ্চিমে এবং পায়রা সমুদ্রবন্দর থেকে ১ হাজার ৫০ কিলোমিটার দক্ষিণ-দক্ষিণপশ্চিমে অবস্থান করছিল।
এটি আরও ঘণীভূত হয়ে উত্তর-উত্তরপশ্চিম দিকে অগ্রসর হতে পারে এবং পরবর্তীতে দিক পরিবর্তন করে উত্তর-উত্তরপূর্ব দিকে অগ্রসর হয়ে খুলনা ও চট্টগ্রামের মধ্যবর্তী অঞ্চল দিয়ে ১৯ মে (মঙ্গলবার) শেষরাত থেকে ২০ মে (বুধবার) বিকেল অথবা সন্ধ্যার মধ্যে বাংলাদেশের উপকূল অতিক্রম করতে পারে।
ঘূর্ণিঝড় কেন্দ্রের ৭৪ কিলোমিটারের মধ্যে বাতাসের একটানা সর্বোচ্চ গতিবেগ ঘণ্টায় ১১০ কিলোমিটার, যা দমকা অথবা ঝড়ো হাওয়ার আকারে ১৩০ কিলোমিটার পর্যন্ত বৃদ্ধি পাচ্ছে। ঘূর্ণিঝড় কেন্দ্রের নিকটে সাগর খুবই বিক্ষুব্ধ রয়েছে। চট্টগ্রাম, কক্সবাজার, মোংলা ও পায়রা সমুদ্রবন্দরকে ৪ নম্বর স্থানীয় হুঁশিয়ারি সংকেত দেখিয়ে যেতে বলা হয়েছে।
