নিজস্ব প্রতিবেদক: ইদের আগে মোবাইল ফিনান্সিয়াল সার্ভিস (এমএফএস) বা মোবাইল ব্যাংকিংয়ের মাধ্যমে দেশের ১৯৭৫টি তৈরি পোশাক কারখানা তাদের ১৯ লাখ ১৯ হাজার শ্রমিককে এপ্রিল মাসের বেতন-বোনাস পরিশোধ করেছে।
শনিবার (২৩ মে) বাংলাদেশ তৈরি পোশাক প্রস্তুত ও রফতানিকারক সমিতি (বিজিএমইএ) এ তথ্য জানিয়েছে।
বিজিএমইএ এবং বিকেএমইএ সদস্যভুক্ত এসব কারখানার শ্রমিকদের মোবাইলে সহজে বেতন-ভাতা পৌঁছাতে সহযোগিতা করে মোবাইল ব্যাংকিংয়ে সেবাদানকারী তিন প্রতিষ্ঠান ব্র্যাক ব্যাংকের সহযোগী প্রতিষ্ঠান মোবাইল ব্যাংকিং ‘বিকাশ’, ডাচ বাংলা ব্যাংকের ‘রকেট’ এবং বাংলাদেশ ডাক বিভাগের আর্থিক লেনদেন সেবা ‘নগদ’।
এর মাধ্যে ‘বিকাশ’ এর মাধ্যমে পাঠানো হয়েছে এক হাজার ৮৬টি কারখানার ১০ লাখ দুই হাজার ৮৬ শ্রমিকের বেতন ভাতা। রকেটের মাধ্যমে ৭২০ কারখানার আট লাখ শ্রমিককে বেতন ভাতা দিয়েছে এবং নগদ-এর মাধ্যমে পাঠানো হয়েছে ১৬৯ কারখানার এক লাখ ১৭ হাজার শ্রমিকের বেতন ভাতা।সব মিলিয়ে এক হাজার ৯৭৫টি তৈরি পোশাক কারখানা তাদের ১৯ লাখ ১৯ হাজার ৮৬ শ্রমিককে এপ্রিল মাসের বেতন ও বোনাস মোবাইল ব্যাংকিংয়ের মাধ্যমে পরিশোধ করেছে।
জানা গেছে, করোনার কারণে সৃষ্ট পরিস্থিতিতে রফতানিমুখী শিল্প প্রতিষ্ঠানের বেতন-ভাতা পরিশোধ করতে পাঁচ হাজার কোটি টাকার প্রণোদনা প্যাকেজ ঘোষণা করেছিলেন প্রধানমন্ত্রী শেখ হাসিনা। এ প্যাকেজ থেকে উৎপাদনের ন্যূনতম ৮০ শতাংশ পণ্য রফতানি করছে এমন সচল প্রতিষ্ঠান সুদবিহীন সর্বোচ্চ দুই শতাংশ হারে সার্ভিসচার্জ দিয়ে ঋণ নিতে পারবে। তবে এ ঋণ দিয়ে শুধুমাত্র শিল্প প্রতিষ্ঠানের শ্রমিক-কর্মচারীদের বেতন-ভাতা পরিশোধ করতে হবে। কোনোভাবেই কর্মকর্তাদের বেতন-ভাতা প্রদান করা যাবে না। একইসঙ্গে এ বেতন সরাসরি শ্রমিকের ব্যাংক বা মোবাইল অ্যাকাউন্টে দিতে হবে। নগদ টাকা প্রদান করা যাবে না।
এরপর থেকেই বাধ্য হয়ে পোশাক কারখানার মালিকরা তাদের শ্রমিকদের এমএফএস হিসাব খোলেন। এখন পর্যন্ত প্রায় ২৬ লাখ শ্রমিক মোবাইল ব্যাংকিংয়ে হিসাব খুলেছেন বলে সংশ্লিষ্ট সূত্রে জানা গেছে।
এদিকে ইদের আগে শনিবার (২৩ মে) পর্যন্ত বিজিএমইএর সদস্যভুক্ত ৯৭ দশমিক ৫ শতাংশ কারখানার শ্রমিকদের বেতন-বোনাস পরিশোধ করা হয়েছে বলে জানিয়েছে সংগঠনটি।
বিজিএমইএর পক্ষ থেকে বলা হয়েছে, তাদের সদস্যভুক্ত ১৯২৬টি কারখানার মধ্যে ১৮৭৮টি কারখানার শ্রমিকদের এপ্রিল মাসের বেতন ও ঈদের বোনাস পরিশোধ করেছে। অর্থাৎ ৯৭ দশমিক ৫ শতাংশ কারখানায় বেতন-বোনাস পরিশোধ হয়েছে। তবে ৪৮টি কারখানার শ্রমিকদের বেতন-বোনাস এখনও পরিশোধ করা হয়নি। তাদের বেতন দেয়ার প্রক্রিয়া চলছে বলে জানানো হয়েছে।
