ইরানের প্রতি আবার কৃতজ্ঞতা জানালেন ভেনিজুয়েলার প্রেসিডেন্ট

আন্তর্জাতিক ডেস্ক: মার্কিন নিষেধাজ্ঞা উপেক্ষা করে তার দেশের জন্য পাঁচটি তেল ট্যাংকার পাঠানোর জন্য আবারো ইরানের প্রতি কৃতজ্ঞতা জানিয়েছেন ভেনিজুয়েলার প্রেসিডেন্ট নিকোলাস মাদুরো।

সোমবার (১ জুন) ইরানের পঞ্চম ও সর্বশেষ তেল ট্যাংকার ভেনিজুয়েলার একটি বন্দরে নোঙর করার পর প্রেসিডেন্ট মাদুরো এক টুইটার বার্তায় ওই কৃতজ্ঞতা জানান। তিনি বলেন, ইরান থেকে তেল ট্যাংকার আসার ঘটনায় প্রমাণিত হয়েছে, আমেরিকার বিদ্বেষী নীতির মোকাবিলায় ভেনিজুয়েলা একা নয়।

ইরানের সরকার ও জনগণকে উদ্দেশে করে ভেনিজুয়েলার প্রেসিডেন্ট তার বার্তায় আরো বলেন, “আমি ইরানি ভাইদের সাহস ও সহযোগিতার প্রশংসা করছি এবং তাদের প্রতি কৃতজ্ঞতা জানাচ্ছি।” এর আগে গত সপ্তাহেও প্রেসিডেন্ট নিকোলাস মাদুরো তার দেশে পরিশোধিত তেল ও তেলজাত পণ্য পাঠানোর জন্য ইরানের জনগণ ও সরকারের প্রতি কৃতজ্ঞতা জানিয়েছিলেন।

ভেনিজুয়েলা তেলসমৃদ্ধ দেশ হলেও সাম্প্রতিক সময়ে মার্কিন নিষেধাজ্ঞার কারণে দেশটির তেল শোধনাগারগুলো একের পর এক কার্যক্ষমতা হারায়। ফলে পরিশোধিত তেলের মারাত্মক সংকটে পড়ে ভেনিজুয়েলা। এ অবস্থায় ইরান পাঁচটি ট্যাংকারে করে দেশটিতে প্রায় ১৫ লাখ ব্যারেল পরিশোধিত তেল পাঠায়।

ইরান ও ভেনিজুয়েলা দুই দেশের জ্বালানী খাতের ওপরই আমেরিকার নিষেধাজ্ঞা থাকায় এই জ্বালানী সরবরাহ বাধা দেয়ার হুমকি দেয় মার্কিন সরকার। দেশটি ইরানি তেল ট্যাংকারকে বাধা দেয়ার জন্য ক্যারিবিয়ান সাগরে নৌবাহিনী পাঠিয়েছে বলেও গণমাধ্যমে খবর প্রকাশিত হয়েছিল।
