নিজস্ব প্রতিবেদক : সুনামগঞ্জের দিরাই উপজেলায় শিশু তুহিন হাসান (৬) হত্যার চাঞ্চল্যকর মামলায় তার বাবা ও চাচার মৃত্যুদণ্ড দিয়েছেন আদালত। একই সঙ্গে অপরাধ প্রমাণিত না হওয়ায় আরও দুই আসামির খালাস দিয়েছেন আদালত।
সোমবার (১৬ মার্চ) সুনামগঞ্জের আদালত এ রায় দেন। মৃত্যুদণ্ড প্রাপ্তরা হলেন– তুহিনের বাবা আবদুল বাছির (৪০), চাচা নাসির উদ্দিন (৩৫)।
তুহিনের চাচা আবদুল মছব্বির (৪৫) ও জমসেদ আলীকে (৬০) বেকসুর খালাস দিয়েছেন আদালত। এ সময় আসামিরা কাঠগড়ায় ছিলেন।
এর আগে গত ১০ মার্চ সুনামগঞ্জের শিশু আদালত তুহিন হত্যা মামলায় তার ১৭ বছর বয়সী কিশোর চাচাতো ভাইকে ৮ বছরের কারাদণ্ড দেন। তুহিন হত্যার ঘটনায় তার মা মনিরা বেগমের করা মামলায় পাঁচ আসামির মধ্যে তার চাচাতো ভাই শিশু হওয়ায় তার বিচার শিশু আদালতে হয়েছে।
২০১৯ সালের ৩০ ডিসেম্বর বাবাসহ পাঁচজনকে অভিযুক্ত করে তুহিন হত্যাকাণ্ডের অভিযোগপত্র দাখিল করে পুলিশ।
প্রসঙ্গত, গত বছরের ১৩ অক্টোবর রাতে দিরাই উপজেলার কেজাউরা গ্রামে শিশুর বাবা ও তার চাচারা গ্রামের প্রতিপক্ষ লোকজনকে ফাঁসাতে পরিকল্পিতভাবে এই বর্বর হত্যাকাণ্ড ঘটায়। পরের দিন ১৪ অক্টোবর সকালে বাড়ির পাশের একটি গাছে ঝুলন্ত অবস্থায় তুহিনের রক্তাক্ত লাশ পাওয়া যায়। তুহিনের গলা, দুই কান ও যৌনাঙ্গ কাটা ছিল এবং পেটে বিদ্ধ ছিল দুটি ছুরি।
এ ঘটনায় তুহিনের মা মনিরা বেগম নিজে বাদী হয়ে অজ্ঞাতনামা আসামিদের বিরুদ্ধে দিরাই থানায় একটি হত্যা মামলা দায়ের করেন। এরপর পুলিশ তুহিনের বাবা আবদুল বাছির, চাচা- নাসির উদ্দিন, আবদুল মছব্বির, জমসেদ আলী ও চাচাতো ভাইকে গ্রেপ্তার করে। তাদের আদালতে হাজির করা হলে তারা ১৬৪ ধারায় স্বীকারোক্তিমূলক জবানবন্দি দেন।
পুলিশের তদন্তে এই পাঁচজনই ঘটনার সঙ্গে জড়িত বলে প্রমাণ পাওয়া গেছে। পুলিশ এই হত্যাকাণ্ডের ঘটনার আড়াই মাসের মধ্যে আদালতে অভিযোগপত্র দাখিল করে। গ্রামে থাকা প্রতিপক্ষকে ফাঁসাতেই তুহিনের পরিবারের লোকজন পরিকল্পিতভাবে এই হত্যাকাণ্ড ঘটিয়েছে বলে অভিযোগপত্রে উল্লেখ করা হয়েছে।
