মৃত বৃদ্ধের ছেলে সংবাদমাধ্যমকে জানান, সরকারের রেভিনিউ অফিসার ও একটি মেডিকেল টিমকে সঙ্গে নিয়ে আমার বাবার দেহ সত্কার করতে গিয়েছিলাম। ডোডার ডোমানা এলাকার একটি শ্মশানে বাবার চিতায় আগুন দেওয়া হয়। তারপরই কোথা থেকে এলাকার লোকজন এসে হাজির। ওরা প্রথমে সত্কারে বাধা দেয়। এরপর আমাদের লক্ষ্য করে পাথর ছুড়তে থাকে, লাঠি নিয়ে তেড়ে আসে। পরিস্থিতি এমন পর্যায়ে পৌঁছায় যে আধপোড়া মরদেহ অ্যাম্বুলেন্সে তুলে পালাতে বাধ্য হই।
বৃদ্ধের ছেলে আরও জানান, সরকারের কাছে অনুমতি নিয়েই আমরা মরদেহ সত্কারের জন্য ডোডায় নিয়েছিলাম। আমাদের বলা হয়েছিল সব ঠিক করা আছে অন্ত্যেষ্টিতে কোনও বাধা হবে না। ঘটনাস্থালে পুলিশ ছিল কিন্তু তারা কিছুই করেনি।
