বনানী কবরস্থানে নাসিমের দাফন

নিজস্ব প্রতিবেদক : চিকিৎসাধীন অবস্থায় মারা যাওয়া আওয়ামী লীগের সভাপতিমণ্ডলীর সদস্য মোহাম্মদ নাসিমকে রাজধানীর বনানী কবরস্থানে দাফন করা হবে।

শনিবার (১৩ জুন) পরিবারের পক্ষ থেকে আওয়ামী লীগের দফতর সম্পাদক ও প্রধানমন্ত্রীর বিশেষ সহকারী ব্যারিস্টার বিপ্লব বড়ুয়া বিষয়টি জানিয়েছেন।

তিনি জানান, বনানী কবরস্থানে নাসিমের দাফনের প্রস্তুতি চলছে বলে তার ছেলে তানভীর জানিয়েছেন।

আটদিন মৃত্যুর সঙ্গে পাঞ্জা লড়ে শনিবার (১৩ জুন) বেলা ১১টার দিকে রাজধানীর শ্যামলী বাংলাদেশ স্পেশালাইজড হাসপাতালে শেষ নিঃশ্বাস ত্যাগ করেন বর্ষীয়ান এ রাজনীতিবিদ। তার মৃত্যুতে গভীর শোক প্রকাশ করেন প্রধানমন্ত্রী শেখ হাসিনা।

গত ১ জুন হাসপাতালে ভর্তির আগে একবার করোনাভাইরাস পরীক্ষা করালে ফল ‘নেগেটিভ’ আসে। ওই সময় তার স্ত্রী এবং একজন গৃহকর্মীর করোনাভাইরাস সংক্রমণ ধরা পড়ে। পরীক্ষার ফল নেগেটিভ এলেও জ্বর-কাশিসহ অন্যান্য অসুস্থতা বাড়তে থাকায় ১ জুন হাসপাতালে ভর্তি হন নাসিম। সেখানে করোনাভাইরাস পরীক্ষার জন্য তার নমুনা সংগ্রহ করা হয়। রাতে ওই পরীক্ষার ফল ‘পজিটিভ’ আসে।

এরপর তিন দিন পরিস্থিতির কিছুটা উন্নতি হলেও ৫ জুন সকালে তার ‘স্ট্রোক’ হয় বলে নাসিমের ছেলে তানভীর শাকিল জয় জানান। এরপর সেখানেই নাসিমের মস্তিষ্কে অস্ত্রোপচার করা হয়। অস্ত্রোপচারের পর নিবিড় পর্যবেক্ষণে থাকা নাসিমের শারীরিক অবস্থা অবনতির দিকে গেলে ১৩ সদস্যের মেডিকেল বোর্ড গঠন করা হয়।

ওই বোর্ডের সদস্য বঙ্গবন্ধু শেখ মুজিব মেডিকেল বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের উপাচার্য কনক কান্তি বড়ুয়া বলেছিলেন, ‘ক্রিটিক্যাল’ অবস্থায় যাওয়ার পর থেকেই ‘লাইফ সাপোর্টে’ রয়েছেন নাসিম। এরপর গত ৮ জুনের পর দুই দফা তার করোনাভাইরাসের নমুনা পরীক্ষায় ফল ‘নেগেটিভ’ এলেও লাইফ সাপোর্ট সরানো সম্ভব হয়নি। তার মধ্যেই না ফেরার দেশে চলে গেলেন তিনি।
