মঙ্গলবার (২৩ জুন) আওয়ামী লীগের ৭১তম প্রতিষ্ঠাবার্ষিকী উপলক্ষে রাজধানীর ধানমন্ডি ৩২ নম্বরে বঙ্গবন্ধু ভবনের সামনে জাতির পিতার প্রতিকৃতিতে ফুল দিয়ে শ্রদ্ধা জানান দলটির সাধারণ সম্পাদক ওবায়দুল কাদের।
এ সময় আরও উপস্থিত ছিলেন আওয়ামী লীগের সভাপতিমণ্ডলীর সদস্য বেগম মতিয়া চৌধুরী। স্বাস্থ্যবিধি ও সামাজিক দূরত্ব বজায় রেখে প্রতিষ্ঠাবার্ষিকীর এ কর্মসূচিতে অংশ নেন আওয়ামী লীগের কেন্দ্রীয় নেতারা।
উল্লেখ্য, ক্ষমতাসীন আওয়ামী লীগের ৭১তম প্রতিষ্ঠাবার্ষিকী আজ। ১৯৪৯ সালের ২৩ জুন যাত্রা করা আওয়ামী লীগ ৭১ বছর পূর্ণ করল মঙ্গলবার। প্রতিষ্ঠার শুরুতে আওয়ামী লীগের নেতৃত্বে ছিলেন মওলানা আবদুল হামিদ খান ভাসানী, হোসেন শহীদ সোহরাওয়ার্দী, জাতির পিতা বঙ্গবন্ধু শেখ মুজিবুর রহমান ও শামসুল হক।
