সিরাজগঞ্জে মুক্তিপণ না পেয়ে শিশুকে হত্যা

জেলা প্রতিনিধি, সিরাজগন্জ : সিরাজগঞ্জের শাহজাদপুরে অপহরণের ১০ দিন পর আব্দুস ছালাম (২) নামে এক শিশুর অর্ধগলিত লাশ উদ্ধার করেছে পুলিশ। রোববার দুপুরে এ তথ্য নিশ্চিত করেন শাহজাদপুর থানা পুলিশের (ওসি তদন্ত) রাকিবুল হাসান।

এর আগে শনিবার গভীর রাতে উপজেলার রায়পুর গ্রামের একটি টয়লেটের ট্যাংকি থেকে শিশুটির লাশ উদ্ধার করা হয়েছে। নিহত শিশু সালাম উপজেলার রায়পুর গ্রামের আকছেদ আলীর ছেলে।

শাহজাদুর থানা পুলিশের ওসি (তদন্ত) রাকিবুল হাসান জানান, গত ২ আগস্ট আকছেদ আলীর ২ বছরের শিশু সন্তান আব্দুস ছালাম বাড়ি থেকে নিখোঁজ হয়। পরদিন তার ঘরের দরজার সামনে একাধিক চিরকুট পাওয়া যায়। এসব চিরকুটে অপহরণকারীরা শিশুটির মুক্তিপণ হিসেবে ১০ লাখ টাকা দাবি করে। পরবর্তীতে আরেকটি চিরকুটে ৩ লাখ টাকা মুক্তিপণের বিনিময়ে শিশুটিকে ছেড়ে দেয়ার প্রতিশ্রুতি দেয় অপহরণকারীরা।

এ ঘটনায় গত ৬ আগস্ট শিশুটির বাবা আকছেদ আলী বাদী হয়ে থানায় একটি জিডি করেন। এ ঘটনায় ৬ আগস্ট সন্দেহভাজন ২ জনকে আটক করে পুলিশ। তাদের জিজ্ঞাসাবাদের সূত্র ধরে পুলিশ একই গ্রামের আমির চান নামে আরও এক ব্যক্তিকে আটক করে। পরে আমির চানের স্বীকারোক্তিমূলক জবানবন্দি অনুযায়ী আমির চানের বাড়িতে অভিযান চালিয়ে টয়লেটের ট্যাংক থেকে শিশুটির অর্ধগলিত লাশ উদ্ধার করে। এ ঘটনায় নিহত শিশুর মা আম্বিয়া খাতুন বাদী হয়ে থানায় আরও একটি মামলা দায়ের করেন।

অতিরিক্ত পুলিশ সুপার (শাহজাদপুর সার্কেল) ফাহমিদা হক শলী জানান, আটক আমির চান মুক্তিপণের আশায় শিশুটিকে অপহরণ করেছিলেন বলে স্বীকার করেছে। মুক্তিপণের টাকা না পেয়ে পরদিন শিশুটিকে হত্যার পর লাশ টয়লেটের ট্যাংকির ভেতর ফেলে দেয়।
