এ সময় মমতাজ বেগম বলেন আমি সকলকে জানাই পবিত্র ঈদ-উল-আযহার আন্তরিক শুভেচ্ছা ও অভিনন্দন এবং ঈদ মোবারক।আমি সকলের অব্যাহত সুখ, শান্তি সমৃদ্ধি ও কল্যাণ কামনা করি। আর ইসলাম ধর্মাবলম্বির জনসাধারণের বড় দুইটি ধর্মীয় উৎসবের মধ্যেই একটি ঈদ হলো ঈদ উল আযহা।এ দেশে এই উৎসবটিকে আবার কুরবানির ঈদ নামে সবাই চেনে। ঈদ উল আযহা হলো ত্যাগের উৎসব।
এই দিনটিতে মুসলমানেরা তাদের সাধ্যমত ধর্মীয় নিয়মানুযায়ী উট, গরু, দুম্বা কিংবা ছাগল কোরবানি বা জবাই দিয়ে থাকে। ইসলাম ধর্মে যার যাকাত দেয়ার সামর্থ্য রয়েছে তাঁর ওপর ঈদ উল আযহা উপলক্ষেই পশু কুরবানি করাটি ওয়াজীব। আর বারবার ফিরে আসে ‘ঈদ । ঈদ এর অর্থটাই হচ্ছে ফিরে আসা। এমন এই দিনকে ঈদ বলা হয়, একে অপরের প্রতি হিংসা বিদ্বেষ ভুলে এই জন্য যে মানুষ বারবার একত্রিত হয় এবং সাধ্যমতো যার যা উপার্জন তা নিয়েই আনন্দ উৎসব করে। তাই ঈদ দ্বারাই মহান আল্লাহ তাঁর বান্দাকে নিয়ামাত কিংবা অনুগ্রহে ধন্য করে থাকে।মহান আল্লাহ পাক মুসলিম উম্মাদের প্রতি নিয়ামত হিসেবেই ঈদ দান করেছে। তাই এই পবিত্র দিনে বাংলাদেশের প্রতিটি গৃহে প্রবাহিত হোক শান্তির অমীয় ধারা। আমি এই কামনা করি। এবং কুরবানীর পশু জবাই যথাস্থানে করে সঙ্গে সঙ্গে বর্জ্য অপসারণ করে পরিবেশটাকে সুন্দর রাখার চেষ্টা করবেন সবাই।
মমতাজ বেগম আরও বলেছেন, জনগণের আশা-আকাঙ্খা অনুযায়ী জননেতা কুমারখালী উন্নয়নের রুপকার ব্যারিস্টার সেলিম আলতাফ জর্জ বর্তমানে ৭৮ (কুষ্টিয়া-৪; কুমারখালী-খোকসা) এর সংসদ সদস্য কুমারখালীতে উন্নয়নে কাজ করে যাচ্ছেন। জননেত্রী শেখ হাসিনা ক্ষমতায় থাকলে দেশের সকল ধর্মের মানুষ শান্তিতে থাকেন, নিরাপদে থাকে। তাই উন্নয়ন, অগ্রগতির ধারা অব্যহত রাখতে বঙ্গবন্ধু শেখ মুজিবুর রহমানের সুযোগ্য কন্যা, জননেত্রী শেখ হাসিনার নেতৃত্বে আওয়ামীলীগ’কেই বারবার ক্ষমতায় রাখতে হবে। এ জন্য দলের প্রতিটি নেতাকর্মীকে ঐক্যবদ্ধ থাকতে হবে এবং দলের জন্য কাজ করতে হবে।
