বিনোদন ডেস্ক : প্রবীর মিত্র দেশীয় চলচ্চিত্রের অনবদ্য এক অভিনেতার নাম। অনেকে তাকে ঢাকাই সিনেমার রঙিন নবাব বলে ডাকেন। অভিনয়ের দীর্ঘ ক্যারিয়ারে অভিনয় করেছেন অসংখ্য কালজয়ী ছবিতে৷ পেয়েছেন জাতীয় চলচ্চিত্র পুরস্কারসহ নানা স্বীকৃতি ও কোটি দর্শকের ভালোবাসা।
চলচ্চিত্রের জীবন্ত এই কিংবদন্তি অভিনেতার জন্মদিন আজ। এবারে তিনি ৮০ বছরে পা রাখছেন।
তবে জন্মদিনে আনন্দ বা উৎসব করার মতো অবস্থায় নেই তিনি। তার শারীরিক অবস্থা খুবই খারাপ৷ বার্ধক্যজনিত সমস্যা তো আছেই, এর উপর কিছুদিন আগে তিনি করোনায় আক্রান্ত হয়েছিলেন। এখন করোনামুক্ত হলেও শরীর দুর্বলতা কাটিয়ে উঠতে পারেনি।
তার সঙ্গে যোগ হয়েছে ঈদের আগের দিন রাতে বাথরুমে পা পিছলে পড়ে মাথায় আঘাত। এই অভিনেতার মাথা ফেটে গেছে বলে জানিয়েছে তার পরিবার। ওই দুর্ঘটনার পর থেকে কানে কম শুনছেন। এখন ঘরের বাইরে আসতেও চান না তিনি। এফডিসিতে আসেন না দীর্ঘদিন। এমনকি বই পড়া এবং টেলিভিশন দেখার মতো অভ্যাসও ছেড়ে দিয়েছেন।
যে ক’দিন বাঁচেন সুস্থভাবে বেঁচে থাকার জন্য দেশের মানুষের কাছে তিনি দোয়া চেয়েছেন ।
চাঁদপুর শহরে এক কায়স্থ পরিবারে ১৯৪০ সালের ১৮ আগস্ট জন্ম গ্রহণ করেন। তবে বংশপরম্পরায় পুরনো ঢাকার স্থায়ী বাসিন্দা তিনি।
ঢাকা শহরেই বেড়ে উঠেছেন৷ প্রথম জীবনে সেন্ট গ্রেগরি থেকে পোগজ স্কুলের গন্ডি পেরিয়ে জগন্নাথ কলেজ থেকে স্নাতক সম্পন্ন করেন।
স্কুলে পড়া অবস্থায় জীবনে প্রথমবারের মতো নাটকে অভিনয় করেন প্রবীর মিত্র। রবীন্দ্রনাথ ঠাকুরের ‘ডাকঘর’ নাটকে তার চরিত্রটি ছিল প্রহরীর।
‘লালকুটি’ থিয়েটার গ্রুপে পেশাদার অভিনয় জীবন শুরু করেন। এরপর বিভিন্ন মাধ্যমের অভিনয়ে দেখা গেছে তাকে। সবখানেই হয়েছেন সফল। তবে মঞ্চ, টিভিকে ছাপিয়ে দর্শকের কাছে চলচ্চিত্র অভিনেতা হিসেবে সমাদৃত তিনি।
পরিচালক এইচ আকবরের ‘জলছবি’ দিয়ে তিনি প্রথম চলচ্চিত্রে অভিনয় করেন। ছবির গল্প ও সংলাপ লিখেছিলেন তারই স্কুল জীবনের বন্ধু এটিএম শামসুজ্জামান। প্রথমদিকে নায়কের চরিত্রে অভিনয় করতেন। তিতাস একটি নদীর নাম, চাবুকসহ বেশ কিছু ছবিতে নায়কের ভূমিকায় অভিনয় করে প্রশংসা পান। সর্বশেষ প্রধান চরিত্রে অভিনয় করেছিলেন রঙিন নবাব সিরাজউদ্দৌলা ছবিতে। পরবর্তী সময় চরিত্রাভিনেতা প্রবীর মিত্রকেই বেশি দেখা গেছে সিনেমায়।
বেলাল আহমেদ পরিচালিত ‘নয়নের আলো’ চলচ্চিত্রে অভিনয় করেছিলেন প্রবীর মিত্র। প্রবীর মিত্রের ভাষায় তার ক্যারিয়ারের সবচেয়ে উল্লেখযোগ্য ছবি ‘নয়নের আলো’। সুমিতা দেবী এ ছবিতে প্রবীর মিত্রের অভিনয় দেখে বলেছিলেন, ‘তুমি যদি এ ছবিতে অভিনয়ের জন্য জাতীয় চলচ্চিত্র পুরস্কার না পাও তাহলে অভিনয় ছেড়ে, এ দেশ ছেড়ে অন্য কোথাও চলে যেও।’ কিন্তু জাতীয় চলচ্চিত্র পুরস্কার না মিললেও প্রবীর মিত্র তার দায়িত্ববোধের জায়গা থেকে, ভালোবাসার জায়গা থেকে অভিনয়ই করে গেছেন আজীবন।
সে ছবিতে না পেলেও পরে তিনি মহিউদ্দিন পরিচালিত ‘বড় ভালো লোক ছিল’ ছবিতে অভিনয়ের জন্য জাতীয় চলচ্চিত্র পুরস্কার পেয়েছিলেন।
অভিনয়ের পাশাপাশি তরুণ বয়সে খেলাধুলার প্রতিও দারুণ ঝোঁক ছিল প্রবীর মিত্রের। প্রবীর মিত্র ষাটের দশকে ঢাকা ফার্স্ট ডিভিশন ক্রিকেট খেলেছেন, ছিলেন ক্যাপ্টেনও। একই সময় তিনি ফার্স্ট ডিভিশন হকি খেলেছেন ফায়ার সার্ভিসের হয়ে। এছাড়া কামাল স্পোর্টিংয়ের হয়ে সেকেন্ড ডিভিশন ফুটবলও খেলেছেন।
