জেলা প্রতিনিধি, পটুয়াখালী : পটুয়াখালী শেরেবাংলা মাধ্যমিক বিদ্যালয়ের নবম শ্রেণিতে পড়ুয়া প্রভি দত্ত নামের এক স্কুল শিক্ষার্থী তার নিজ বাসায় সিলিং ফ্যানের সাথে ওড়না পেচিয়ে গলায় ফাঁস দিয়ে আত্মহত্যা করার খবর পাওয়া গেছে। শহরের সদর এলাকায় ২৯-আগষ্ট- ২০২০ ইং তারিখ সন্ধ্যা আনুমানিক সাড়ে সাতটার দিকে ঘটনাটি ঘটে। মৃত প্রভি দত্ত পৌরসভার ৬ নং ওয়ার্ডের বাসিন্দা মান্না দত্তের মেয়ে।
এ ব্যাপারে মৃত প্রভি দত্তেের পরিবারের লোকজনের সাথে কথা বললে প্রতিবেদকে জানায় তার মা-বাবা দুজনই হসপিটালে চাকুরী করেন।কেন কি কারনে এমনভাবে মেয়েটি আত্মহত্যা করলো কেউ কিছু বলতে পারছেন না। মৃত শিক্ষার্থীর মা-বাবার কাছে জানতে চাইলে তারা বলেন, কেন এমন করলো আমাদের প্রভি জানিনা, সন্ধ্যায় বাসার ভিতরে ফ্যানের সাথে ওড়না পেচিয়ে গলায় ফাঁস দেয়া ঝুলন্ত অবস্থায় তাঁকে দেখতে পাই সাথে সাথে তাকে উদ্ধার করে পটুয়াখালী ২৫০ শয্যা-বিশিষ্ট হসপিটালে নিয়ে আসলে কর্তব্যরত চিকিৎসক তাকে মৃত বলে ঘোষণা করেন বলে কান্নায় ভেঙ্গে পড়েন পরিবারটি।
এব্যাপারে প্রতিবেশীদের সাথে কথা বললে তারা জানান আমরা কোন কিছু বুজলাম না কেন এমন ভাবে আত্মহত্যা করলো প্রভি।তারা বলেন সন্ধ্যার একটু পরে আমরা আমাদের ঘরে থেকে হঠাৎ কান্নাকাটির ডাকচিৎকার শুনে ছুটে আসি।এরপরে প্রভিকে তাদের পরিবারের লোকজন হসপিটালে নিয়ে গেলে তার মৃত্যুর সংবাদ পাই এছাড়া আর কিছুই বলতে পারছিনা।
বর্তমানে লাশের সুরতহাল রিপোর্টের জন্য মর্গে পাঠানো হয়েছে বলে জানিয়েছেন পটুয়াখালী সদর থানার পুলিশ।
