নিজস্ব প্রতিবেদক : মুক্তিযুদ্ধকালীন ৪ নম্বর সেক্টরের কমান্ডার বীরউত্তম চিত্তরঞ্জন (সি আর) দত্তের মরদেহ করোনাভাইরাসের কারণে শহীদ মিনারে নেয়া হবে না। অবসরপ্রাপ্ত এই মেজর জেনারেলকে গার্ড অব অনার প্রদান করা হবে ঢাকেশ্বরী মন্দিরে।
সোমবার (৩১ আগস্ট) সকালে সাংবাদিকদের বিষয়টি জানান হিন্দু-বৌদ্ধ-খ্রিস্টান ঐক্য পরিষদের সাধারণ সম্পাদক রানা দাশগুপ্ত।
তিনি বলেন, ‘আজ সকাল ৮টা ৪০ মিনিটে মরদেহ যুক্তরাষ্ট্র থেকে ঢাকায় আসার কথা। তবে আমি মরদেহ আনতে যাইনি। তাই এসেছে কি না, তা বলতে পারছি না।’
‘তার মরদেহ আর্মি হাসপাতালের হিমাগারে রাখা হবে। মঙ্গলবার (১ সেপ্টেম্বর) সকাল ৭টায় হিমাগার থেকে মরদেহ বের করে বনানীর ডিওএইচএসের তার বাসায় নিয়ে যাওয়া হবে। সেখান থেকে সকাল ৮টায় ঢাকেশ্বরী মন্দিরে নিয়ে আসা হবে। ঢাকেশ্বরীতে ঘণ্টা দুয়েক রাখা হবে’, যোগ করেন রানা দাশগুপ্ত।
তিনি বলেন, ‘করোনাভাইরাসের কারণে তার মরদেহ শহীদ মিনারে নেয়া হচ্ছে না। তবে মঙ্গলবার তাকে গার্ড অব অনার দেয়া হবে ঢাকেশ্বরীতে। সেখান থেকে মরদেহ যাবে সবুজবাগের বরদেশ্বরী শ্মশানে। ওখানে সাড়ে ১১টা থেকে ১২টার দিকে তাকে গান স্যালুট দেবে আর্মি। তারপর মরদেহ দাহ করা হবে।’
এদিকে একটি সূত্রে জানা গেছে, যুক্তরাষ্ট্র থেকে ঢাকায় পৌঁছেছে সি আর দত্তের মরদেহ। সোমবার সকাল ৮টা ৪০ মিনিটে এমিরেটস এয়ারলাইন্সের একটি ফ্লাইটে হযরত শাহজালাল আন্তর্জাতিক বিমানবন্দরে এসে পৌঁছে তার মরদেহ।
যুক্তরাষ্ট্রের ফ্লোরিডার হাসপাতালে চিকিৎসাধীন অবস্থায় বাংলাদেশ সময় মঙ্গলবার (২৫ আগস্ট) সকাল ৯টার দিকে সি আর দত্ত মারা যান। মৃত্যুকালে তার বয়স হয়েছিল ৯৩ বছর।
