মঙ্গলবার (২২ সেপ্টেম্বর) ধানমণ্ডির গণস্বাস্থ্য কেন্দ্র নগর হাসপাতালের সামনে এক অনুষ্ঠানে এ কথা বলেন তিনি।
কোভিড-১৯ ফ্রন্টলাইন যোদ্ধাদের সম্মান জানাতে এ অনুষ্ঠানের আয়োজন করে গণস্বাস্থ্য কেন্দ্র। সারা দেশে গণস্বাস্থ্যের ৩০টি কেন্দ্রে এ কর্মসূচি অনুষ্ঠিত হয়।
গণস্বাস্থ্য কেন্দ্র মিডিয়া উপদেষ্টা জাহাঙ্গীর আলম মিন্টুর সঞ্চালনায় জিকে পরিচালক মোহাম্মদ শওকত আলী অনুষ্ঠানে উদ্বোধনী বক্তব্য রাখেন।
ডা. জাফরুল্লাহ চৌধুরী বলেন, আমাদের অ্যান্টিবডি এবং অ্যান্টিজেন কিট প্রস্তুত থাকার পরও সরকার তা অনুমোদন না দিয়ে আমদানির অনুমোদন দিয়েছে। এর কারণ এ সরকার ব্যবসায়ীদের সরকার। তাই এটি ব্যবসায়িক উদ্দেশ্য।
তিনি বলেন, গণস্বাস্থ্য কেন্দ্র কিটের অনুমতি চেয়ে আর আবেদন করবে না। তবে সরকার যদি নিজে অনুমোদন দেয়, তবে জিকে কিট সরবরাহ করবে।
সরকারের সমালোচনা করে এ মুক্তিযোদ্ধা বলেন, সরকার এখনও ভুলনীতিতে চলছে। তারা সময়মতো করোনার ভ্যাকসিন ট্রায়ালের অনুমোদন দেয়নি।
জাফরুল্লাহ চৌধুরী বলেন, কিট উন্নয়নে গণস্বাস্থ্য কেন্দ্রের ১০ কোটি টাকা ক্ষতি হয়েছে। কিন্তু সরকার অনুমোদন দেয়নি। তিনি বলেন, যুদ্ধ হলে লোক মারা যাবে, তেমনি স্বাস্থ্যের দুর্যোগের সময় ডাক্তার, নার্স এবং অন্যরা স্বাস্থ্যঝুঁকিতে থাকবেন। কিন্তু এদের জন্য সরকারের যথেষ্ট সাহায্য-সহযোগিতা থাকা উচিত।
অনুষ্ঠানে গণস্বাস্থ্য কেন্দ্রের ডাক্তার, নার্স ও স্বাস্থ্যকর্মীসহ কয়েকশ মানুষ একযোগে ১ মিনিট করতালি দিয়ে করোনায় সম্মুখযোদ্ধাদের শ্রদ্ধা জানান।
