আইন ও আদালত : দেশের বিচার বিভাগ নিয়ে ফেসবুকে বিরূপ মন্তব্য করে পোস্ট দেয়ায় সুপ্রিম কোর্টের আইনজীবী ইউনুছ আলী আকন্দকে ৩ মাস আপিল বিভাগ এবং হাইকোর্ট বিভাগের কাজ থেকে বিরত থাকার নির্দেশ দিয়েছেন আপিল বিভাগ।

একইসঙ্গে তাকে ২৫ হাজার টাকা জরিমানাও করা হয়েছে। জরিমানা অনাদায়ে ১৫ দিনের কারাদণ্ডের আদেশ দিয়েছেন আপিল বিভাগ।

সোমবার (১২ অক্টোবর) প্রধান বিচারপতি সৈয়দ মাহমুদ হোসেনের নেতৃত্বাধীন সাত সদস্যের আপিল বিভাগের ভার্চুয়াল পূর্ণাঙ্গ বেঞ্চ এ আদেশ দেন।

দেশের বিচার বিভাগ নিয়ে ফেসবুকে বিরূপ মন্তব্য করে পোস্ট দেয়ায় সুপ্রিম কোর্টের আইনজীবী ইউনুছ আলী আকন্দ গতকাল সশরীরে উপস্থিত হয়ে নিঃশর্ত ক্ষমা চেয়েছিলেন সুপ্রিম কোর্টের আপিল বিভাগে। এরপর এ বিষয়ে শুনানি শেষে আজ সোমবার (১২ অক্টোবর) আদেশের জন্য দিন ঠিক করেছিলেন আপিল আদালত।

গতকালের শুনানিতে বিচারপতি হাসান ফয়েজ বলেন, ওই স্ট্যাটাস দিয়ে আইনজীবী সারাবিশ্বে আমাদের জুডিসিয়ারিকে হেয় করেছেন।

শুনানিতে দেশের প্রধান বিচারপতি সৈয়দ মাহমুদ হোসেন বলেছিলেন, এই আইনজীবী (ইউনুস আলী আকন্দ) একজন হ্যাবিচুয়াল কনটেম্পনার (অভ্যাসগত আদালত অবমাননাকারী)। এর আগেও তিনি তিনবার একই ধরনের অপরাধ করেছেন, তাকে ছেড়ে দিয়েছি। আর কতবার তাকে ছেড়ে দেব? তিনি এবার যে কাজ করেছেন সেটা কি ক্ষমারযোগ্য? তার যে বয়স (৬১ বছর) তাতে প্র্যাকটিস থেকে অবসর নেয়ার সময় হয়েছে।
