পাবনায় দুই গ্রুপের সংঘর্ষে বাবা-ছেলে নিহত

দুই দল গ্রামবাসীর সংঘর্ষে পাবনার ভাঙ্গুড়া উপজেলায় বাবা-ছেলে নিহত হয়েছে। একই ঘটনায় নারী-পুরুষসহ কমপক্ষে ১৭ জন আহত হয়েছেন।

একটি জলাশয় দখল নিয়ে পূর্ব বিরোধ এবং প্রতিপক্ষের এক গৃহবধূকে কুপ্রস্তাব দেওয়ার জের ধরে বুধবার (১৪ অক্টোবর) এই সংঘর্ষের ঘটনা ঘটে।

নিহতরা হলেন- দাসবেলাই গ্রামের তোরাব আলী (৭৫) ও তার ছেলে ফজলুর রহমান (৩৫)। রাজশাহী মেডিকেল হাসপাতালে চিকিৎসাধীন অবস্থায় বৃহস্পতিবার (১৫ অক্টোবর) দুপুরে তারা মারা যায়।

এ ঘটনার জের ধরে ওই এলাকায় উত্তেজনা বিরাজ করছে। সংঘর্ষের ঘটনায় বুধবার রাতে ৪ জন এবং বৃহস্পতিবার বাবা-ছেলের মৃত্যুর পর আরও একজনকে গ্রেপ্তার করেছে পুলিশ।

প্রত্যক্ষদর্শী ও থানা সূত্রে জানা যায়, ভাঙ্গুড়া উপজেলার খানমরিচ ইউনিয়নের দাসবেলাই গ্রামের মসজিদের পুকুর লিজ নেওয়াকে কেন্দ্র করে আবদুল গফুর ও আবু জল গ্রুপের মধ্যে বিরোধ চলছিল। এরই জেরে গত সপ্তাহে আবু জলের ছেলে মফিদুল ইসলাম আবদুল গফুরের পরিবারের এক গৃহবধূকে কুপ্রস্তাব দেয়। পরে বিষয়টি নিয়ে দুই গ্রুপের মধ্যে তীব্র উত্তেজনা সৃষ্টি হয়। একপর্যায়ে বুধবার উভয় পক্ষ সংঘর্ষে জড়িয়ে পড়ে।

আবদুল গফুর পরিবারের দাবি, এক গৃহবধূকে কুপ্রস্তাব দেওয়ার প্রতিবাদ করায় আবু জল ও তার ছেলে তাদের ওপর হামলা চালালে সংঘর্ষ শুরু হয়।

এ ঘটনায় ওই গৃহবধূ বুধবার ভাঙ্গুড়া থানায় মামলা করেন।

বিষয়টিতে অপরপক্ষ আবু জলের ছেলে মফিজুল জানায়, আগে ওরা হামলা করায় সংঘর্ষ বাধে। গৃহবধূকে উত্ত্যক্তের অভিযোগ ষড়যন্ত্রমূলক ও বানোয়াট।

গৃহবধূর করা মামলার বিষয়টি নিশ্চিত করে ভাঙ্গুড়া থানার ওসি আনোয়ার হোসেন জানান, ঘটনাস্থলে পুলিশ পাঠানো হয়েছে। বর্তমানে ওই এলাকার পরিস্থিতি শান্ত রয়েছে।
