নিজস্ব প্রতিবেদক : পটুয়াখালীর লেবুখালীর পাগলা মোড়ে প্রদর্শিত বিমান বাংলাদেশের যুদ্ধবিমান ভেঙে ফেলার ঘটনায় গত দুইদিন ধরে জেলায় তোলপাড় চলছে।

রবিবার (৭ মার্চ) দুপুর ১টার দিকে বিমানবাহিনী এবং পটুয়াখালী জেলা প্রশাসনের কর্মকর্তারা বরিশাল-কুয়াকাটা মহাসড়কের পাগলা এলাকায় ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত বিমানটি পরিদর্শন করেন।

এদিকে বিমানবাহিনীর পক্ষ থেকে তিন সদস্যের একটি প্রতিনিধি দল ক্ষয়ক্ষতি নির্ণয় এবং এটিকে পূর্বের অবস্থায় নিয়ে যাওয়ার জন্য কাজ শুরু করেছে।

রবিবার (৭ মার্চ) দুপুরে দেড়টার কিছু পরে জেলা প্রশাসক মো. মতিউল ইসলাম চৌধুরী, বিমানবাহিনীর গ্রুপ ক্যাপ্টেন জি এম হায়দার আলীসহ পটুয়াখালী বিজ্ঞান ও প্রযুক্তি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের ভিসি (রুটিন দায়িত্ব) অধ্যাপক স্বদেশ চন্দ্র সামন্ত, শিক্ষক প্রতিনিধি এবং বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় ছাত্র প্রতিনিধিরা ঘটনাস্থল পরিদর্শন করেন।

এসময় সাংবাদিকদের প্রশ্নের জবাবে জেলা প্রশাসক মো. মতিউল ইসলাম চৌধুরী বলেন, ‘এটিকে এখন জেলা পুলিশ এবং উপজেলা প্রশাসন পাহাড়া দিবে। কাদের গাফলতির কারণে এটি ভাঙা হলো এবং এটিকে আবারও প্রদর্শন উপযোগী করার জন্য কাজ শুরু হয়েছে’।

পটুয়াখালী পৌর মেয়র মহিউদ্দিন আহম্মেদ বলেন, ‘দেশের ঐতিহাসিক এই নিদর্শনটিকে পটুয়াখালী জেলা শহরের গুরুত্বপূর্ন একটি স্থানে স্থাপন করতে চাই। এজন্য আমি সরকারের সংশ্লিষ্ট বিভাগগুলোর সহযোগিতা প্রত্যাশা করছি’।

উল্লেখ্য, শনিবার (৬ মার্চ) সকালে বরিশাল-কুয়াকাটা মহাসড়কে নির্মানাধীন লেবুখালী সেতুর এপ্রোচ সড়কের মধ্যে পড়ায় বিমানবাহিনীর প্রদর্শিত যুদ্ধ বিমানটি ভেঙে ফেলা হয়।
