ময়মনসিংহে বিএনপির বিক্ষোভ কর্মসূচি পুলিশের বাধায় পন্ড হয়ে গেছে। এসময় পুলিশ ও বিএনপি নেতাকর্মীদের মাঝে ধস্তাধস্তির ঘটনায় ছয়জনকে আটক করেছে পুলিশ।
সোমবার (২৯ মার্চ) বেলা ১২টায় নগরীর বিএনপির কার্যালয়ের সামনে এ ঘটনা ঘটে।
আটকের বিষয়টি নিশ্চিত করেছেন ময়মনসিংহ সদর সার্কেলের সহকারী পুলিশ সুপার আলাউদ্দিন। তবে তিনি এ বিষয়ে কোনো কথা বলতে রাজি হননি।
জানা যায়, সোমবার দুপুরে মহানগর বিএনপির যুগ্ম আহ্বায়ক আবু ওয়াহাব আকন্দের নেতৃত্বে একটি বিক্ষোভ মিছিল দলীয় কার্যালয়ে যাওয়ার পথে নতুনবাজার মোড়ে পুলিশ বাধা দেয়। এসময় নেতাকর্মীরা রাস্তায় বসে পড়লে মহানগর বিএনপির আহ্বায়ক অধ্যাপক এ কে এম শফিকুল ইসলাম সংক্ষিপ্ত বক্তব্য দিয়ে কর্মসূচি শেষ করেন।
পরে স্লোগান দিতে দিতে মিছিলকারীরা ফিরে যাওয়ার সময় আবার রামবাবু রোডে পুলিশ বাধা দেয়। এসময় দু’পক্ষের মধ্যে ধস্তাধস্তির ঘটনা ঘটে। ঘটনাস্থল থেকে পুলিশ ছয় নেতাকর্মীকে আটক করে নিয়ে যায়।
