সাতক্ষীরার শ্যামনগরে সড়ক দুর্ঘটনায় মাহাবুব শেখ (২৫) নামের এক ভ্যানচালক নিহত হয়েছেন।
রোববার (১১ এপ্রিল) সকাল ৯টায় উপজেলার ভূরুলিয়া গ্রামে জাফর ডাক্তারের বাড়ির সামনের সড়কে এ দুর্ঘটনা ঘটে।
নিহত মাহাবুব শেখ উত্তর ফুলবাড়ীয়া গ্রামের মোমিন শেখের ছেলে।
বিষয়টি নিশ্চিত করেছেন শ্যামনগর থানার ভারপ্রাপ্ত কর্মকর্তা (ওসি) নাজমুল হুদা।
তিনি বলেন, সকালে ব্যাটারিচালিত ভ্যানে মালামাল নিয়ে ভূরুলিয়া যাচ্ছিলেন মাহাবুব। পথে জাফর ডাক্তারের বাড়ির সামনে পৌঁছালে ভ্যান নিয়ন্ত্রণ হারিয়ে সড়কের পাশের বিদ্যুতের খুঁটির সঙ্গে ধাক্কা খায়। এতে তিনি আহত হন।
স্থানীয়রা তাকে শ্যামনগর উপজেলা স্বাস্থ্য কমপ্লেক্সে নিয়ে গেলে কর্তব্যরত চিকিৎসক মৃত ঘোষণা করেন বলে জানান পুলিশের এ কর্মকর্তা।
