বাংলাদেশের অন্যতম বেসরকারী বিমান সংস্থা ইউএস-বাংলা এয়ারলাইন্স আগামী ৪ মে মঙ্গলবার থেকে ঢাকা-কুয়ালালামপুর রুটে ফ্লাইট পরিচালনা শুরু করতে যাচ্ছে। করোনা মহামারীর মধ্যে প্রাথমিকভাবে সপ্তাহে দু’দিন এই রুটে ফ্লাইট পরিচালিত হবে।
রোববার (২ মে) ইউএস-বাংলা এয়ারলাইন্সের মহাব্যবস্থাপক-জনসংযোগ মো. কামরুল ইসলাম এ তথ্য জানান।
বর্তমানে করোনা মহামরীর মধ্যে রাষ্ট্রীয় বিভিন্ন শর্তারোপের কারনে ইউএস-বাংলার ফ্লাইট প্রতি মঙ্গল ও বৃহস্পতিবার রাত ৮টায় ঢাকার হযরত শাহজালাল আন্তর্জাতিক বিমানবন্দর থেকে কুয়ালালামপুরের উদ্দেশ্যে যাত্রা করবে এবং স্থানীয় সময় রাত ২টায় কুয়ালালামপুরে অবতরন করবে। পুনরায় বুধ ও শুক্রবার রাত ৩টায় কুয়ালালামপুর থেকে ঢাকার উদ্দেশ্যে যাত্রা করে ভোর ৫টায় ঢাকার হযরত শাহজালাল আন্তর্জাতিক বিমান বন্দরে অবতরন করবে।
ঢাকা-কুয়ালালামপুর-ঢাকা রুটে ১৬৪ আসনের বোয়িং ৭৩৭-৮০০ এয়ারক্রাফট দিয়ে ফ্লাইট পরিচালিত হবে। বোয়িং ৭৩৭-৮০০ এয়ারক্রাফটে ৮টি বিজনেস ক্লাস, ১৫৬টি ইকোনমি ক্লাস এর আসন ব্যবস্থা রয়েছে।
কোভিড-১৯ মহামারীতে বর্তমানে সরকারের নির্দেশনা মতে ঢাকা থেকে দুবাই, দোহা, সিঙ্গাপুর ও গুয়াংজু রুটে ফ্লাইট পরিচালনা করছে। এছাড়া সাময়িক নিষেধাজ্ঞার মধ্যে ফ্লাইট পরিচালনা বন্ধ রয়েছে ঢাকা থেকে মাস্কাট, চেন্নাই, কলকাতা ও ব্যাংকক।
বর্তমানে ইউএস-বাংলা এয়ারলাইন্স দেশের অভ্যন্তরে কক্সবাজার ব্যতীত সকল রুটে ফ্লাইট পরিচালনা করছে। ইউএস-বাংলার বিমান বহরে ৪টি বোয়িং-৭৩৭-৮০০, ৭টি ব্র্যান্ডনিউ এটিআর৭২-৬০০সহ মোট ১৪টি এয়ারক্রাফট রয়েছে।
