নেত্রকোনার মদন উপজেলায় প্রতিপক্ষের কিল-ঘুষিতে আবুল কাশেম (৬৫) নামের এক কৃষক নিহত হয়েছেন। সোমবার (৩ মে) সকালে হাসপাতালে চিকিৎসাধীন অবস্থায় তার মৃত্যু হয়।
এর আগে রোববার (২ মে) দুপুরে উপজেলার নায়েকপুর ইউনিয়ের বরাটি গ্রামে এ ঘটনা ঘটে।
নিহত কাশেম বরাটি গ্রামের মৃত আব্দুল ছোবাহানের ছেলে।
পুলিশ জানায়, রোববার দুপুরে মেশিন দিয়ে ধান মাড়াইকে কেন্দ্র করে বরাটি মড়ল পাড়ার সামনে আবুল কাশেমের সঙ্গে একই গ্রামের ইসলাম উদ্দীনের ছেলে লিংকনের বাগ-বিতণ্ডা হয়। এসময় লিংকন, তাজুল ইসলাম, জুয়েলসহ আবুল কাশেমকে মারধর করা হয়।
এরপর স্থানীয়রা কাশেমকে মদন হাসপাতালে ভর্তি করে। সেখানে আজ (সোমবার) সকালে তার মৃত্যু হয়।
মদন থানার ভারপ্রাপ্ত কর্মকর্তা (ওসি) ফেরদৌস আলম বলেন, প্রতিপক্ষের আঘাতে আবুল কাশেম নামের একজন নিহত হয়েছেন। ঘটনাস্থলে পুলিশ রয়েছে। লাশের সুরতহাল রিপোর্ট তৈরি করে ময়নাতদন্তের জন্য নেত্রকোনা মর্গে পাঠানো হবে। বাদী পক্ষের অভিযোগের ভিত্তিতে আইনি ব্যবস্থা নেয়া হবে।
