বন্ধুদের সঙ্গে খেলতে গিয়ে মাঠে গিয়েই মৃত্যু বরণ করে এক যুবক। জানা যায়, পটুয়াখালীর কলাপাড়ায় ফুটবল খেলতে গিয়ে বলে কিক মারার পরই ইলিয়াছ হোসেন (২৪) নামে এক যুবকের মৃত্যু হয়েছে। মঙ্গলবার (৪ মে) বিকেল সাড়ে ৫টার দিকে উপজেলার লালুয়া ইউপির মহল্লাপাড়া গ্রামে এ ঘটনা ঘটে।
কলাপাড়া থানার ভারপ্রাপ্ত কর্মকর্তা ( ওসি, তদন্ত) আসাদুর রহমান ঘটনার সতত্যা নিশ্চিত করেন। ইলিয়াছ নয়াপাড়া গ্রামের ফোরকান পাহলানের ছেলে।
স্থানীয় সূত্রে জানা যায়, বিকালে ওই এলাকায় নান্নু বিশ্বাসের ঘেরে ফুটবল খেলছিলো ইলিয়াসসহ তার বেশ কয়েকজন বন্ধু। এসময় গোল দেওয়ার জন্য বলে কিক দিয়েই ইলিয়াস মাটিতে লুটিয়ে পরে। বন্ধুরা তাকে উদ্ধার করে কলাপাড়া হাসপাতালে নিয়ে আসলে চিকিৎসক তাকে মৃত ঘোষণা করেন।
কলাপাড়া হাসপাতালের চিকিৎসক ডা. অনুপ কুমার জানান, হাসপাতালে নিয়ে আসার অন্তত বিশ মিনিট আগেই ওই যুবকের মৃত্যু হয়েছে। কি কারণে মৃত্যু হয়েছে তার সঠিক কারণ জানা যায়নি।
ওসি আসাদুর রহমান জানান, ঘটনাস্থলে পুলিশ পাঠানো হয়েছে। বিস্তারিত জানার পর আইনানুগ ব্যবস্থা গ্রহণ করা হবে।
