মাগুরার মহম্মদপুরে অজ্ঞাতপরিচয় এক যুবকের (৩০) মরদেহের তিন টুকরা উদ্ধার করা হয়েছে।
রোববার (৬ জুন) মাগুরা-মহম্মদপুর সড়কের পাশে বিনোদপুর ইউনিয়নের কালুকান্দি এলাকা থেকে খণ্ডিত টুকরাগুলো উদ্ধার করে পুলিশ।
মহম্মদপুর থানার ভারপ্রাপ্ত কর্মকর্তা (ওসি) তারক বিশ্বাস বলেন, বিনোদপুরের কালুকান্দি এলাকায় সড়কের পাশের একটি জায়গায় দুটি প্লাস্টিকের প্যাকেটে এক যুবকের মাথা, বুকের অংশ ও হাঁটুর ওপরের অংশ (থাই) দেখতে পেয়ে থানায় খবর দেন স্থানীয়রা। খবর পেয়ে পুলিশ ঘটনাস্থলে গিয়ে খণ্ডিত অংশগুলো উদ্ধার করে ময়নাতদন্তের জন্য মাগুরা মেডিক্যাল কলেজ হাসপাতাল মর্গে পাঠায়।
ওসি আরও বলেন, ধারণা করা হচ্ছে, ওই ব্যক্তিকে হত্যার পর বস্তাবন্দি করে মরদেহটি রাস্তার পাশে ফেলে দেওয়া হয়। ওই বয়সী কোনো পুরুষ নিখোঁজ হয়েছেন কি না, বিভিন্ন থানায় খোঁজ নেওয়া হচ্ছে। মরদেহের চেহারা দেখে তাকে শনাক্ত করার চেষ্টা করা হচ্ছে।
এ ঘটনায় মহম্মদপুর থানায় একটি হত্যা মামলার প্রস্তুতি চলছে।
