হতদরিদ্র আর খেটে খাওয়া মানুষের খাদ্য নিরাপত্তা নিশ্চিত করা না গেলে লকডাউন সফল হবে না মন্তব্য করে জাতীয় পার্টির চেয়ারম্যান জিএম কাদের বলেন, ক্ষুধার্ত মানুষকে ঘরে আটকে রাখা যায় না। ক্ষুধা আর লকডাউন এক সঙ্গে চলে না।
শনিবার (২৬ জুন) জাতীয় পার্টির দেওয়া এক বিবৃতিতে তিনি এ কথা বলেন।
তিনি বলেন, লকডাউনের কারণে কয়েক কোটি মানুষ প্রতিদিন কাজে যেতে না পারলে হাহাকার উঠবে এ সকল পরিবারে। মানবিক বিপর্যয় সৃষ্টি হতে পারে দেশজুড়ে। এছাড়া আইন শৃঙ্খলা পরিস্থিতি ভেঙে পড়তে পারে অভাবের কারণে।
তবে তিনি এও বলেন, এটা মানতেই হবে, করোনাভাইরাস মহামারি আকারে ছড়িয়ে পড়লে লকডাউনের বিকল্প নেই।
দেশে করোনাভাইরাস সংক্রমণ ব্যাপক হারে ছড়িয়ে পড়ায় বিশেষজ্ঞদের পরামর্শে সোমবার থেকে সাত দিনের জন্য কঠোর লকডাউন ঘোষণা করেছে সরকার।
এ লকডাউনে সকল ধরনের যানবাহন বন্ধ থাকবে। জরুরি পণ্য সরবরাহে নিয়োজিত যান চলাচল চালু থাকবে। মানুষ যাতে অপ্রয়োজনে ঘরের বাইরে বের না হতে পারে সেজন্য পুলিশ, বিজিবির পাশাপাশি মাঠে কাজ করবে সেনাবাহিনীও।
