সম্পত্তি ভাগবাটোয়ারা নিয়ে বিরোধের জেরে শুক্রবার (২ জুলাই) রাত ৮টার দিকে গোলাপগঞ্জ উপজেলার বাঘা ইউনিয়নের এক নম্বর পরগনা এলাকায় এ ঘটনা ঘটে।
নিহত তোঁতা মিয়ার (৫৫) বাড়ি পরগনা গ্রামে।
জানা যায়, পরগনা এলাকা থেকে তোঁতা মিয়া ফেরার পথে তিন ছেলে মাসুম আহমদ, রাকিব আহমদ ও তানিম আহমদ মিলে দেশি অস্ত্র দিয়ে বাবাকে কুপিয়ে জখম করেন। স্থানীয়রা তাকে উদ্ধার করে ওসমানী মেডিক্যাল কলেজ হাসপাতালে পাঠালে চিকিৎসাধীন অবস্থায় রাত সাড়ে ৯টার দিকে তিনি মারা যান।
জেলার অতিরিক্ত পুলিশ সুপার (মিডিয়া) মো. লুৎফর রহমান বলেন, সম্পত্তির ভাগাভাগি নিয়ে বিরোধের জেরে তিন ছেলে তাদের বাবাকে হত্যা করেছেন।
গোলাপগঞ্জ থানার ওসি মো. হারুনুর রশিদ চৌধুরী বলেন, সম্পত্তির লোভে তিন ছেলে মিলে তাদের বাবাকে হত্যা করেছেন। এ ঘটনায় হত্যাকারীদের গ্রেপ্তারে পুলিশ অভিযান চালাচ্ছে।
