করোনায় আক্রান্ত হয়ে গত ২৪ ঘণ্টায় কুষ্টিয়া ২৫০ শয্যা বিশিষ্ট জেনারেল হাসপাতালের করোনা ইউনিটে আরও ১৯ জনের মৃত্যু হয়েছে। এ নিয়ে জেলায় করোনায় মোট মৃতের সংখ্যা দাঁড়ালো ৫৩৩ জন। একই সময়ে ৬৭৫টি নমুনা পরীক্ষায় ২৫৩ জন নতুন করোনা রোগী শনাক্ত হয়েছে।
আজ মঙ্গলবার (২৭ জুলাই) হাসপাতালের পরিসংখ্যান কর্মকর্তা মেজবাউল আলম এ তথ্য নিশ্চিত করেন।
কুষ্টিয়া মেডিকেল কলেজের পিসিআর ল্যাবের ফলে জেলায় নতুন করোনা রোগী আরও বাড়ছে। গত ২৪ ঘণ্টায় ৬৭৫টি নমুনা পরীক্ষায় ২৫৩ জন নতুন করোনা রোগী শনাক্ত হয়েছে। এদের মধ্যে কুষ্টিয়া সদর উপজেলায় ৪২ জন, দৌলতপুরে ৫৫, মিরপুরে ৬৩, কুমারখালীতে ৩৯, খোকসায় ২২ ও ভেড়ামারা উপজেলায় ৩২ জন। শনাক্তের হার ৩৭.৩৮ শতাংশ। রবিবার (২৫ জুলাই) সকাল ৯ টা পর্যন্ত হাসপাতালে করোনা ওয়ার্ডে করোনা শানাক্ত রোগী ১৮২ ভর্তি ছিলো। এরমধ্যে শনাক্ত রোগী ১৪১ ও উপসর্গে ভর্তি ৪১ জন।
হাসপাতালে ভর্তি রোগীর সংখ্যা কিছুটা কমলেও জেলায় সংক্রমণ ও মৃত্যু হার এখনো উর্ধ্বমুখী। গত প্রায় দুমাস যাবৎ প্রতি ২৪ ঘণ্টায় গড়ে ১২/১৩ জন করোনা রোগীর মৃত্যু হচ্ছে হাসপাতালে। এছাড়া চাপ সামলাতে ওয়ার্ডের বারান্দা-মেঝেতে ঠাঁই পাওয়া রোগীদের জন্য বেড বাড়ানোর নেই কোনো উদ্যোগ। ফলে লোকবল সংকটসহ নানা সীমাবদ্ধতায় রোগীদের দুর্ভোগ কমছে না।
কুষ্টিয়ার সিভিল সার্জন ডাক্তার এইচএম আনোয়ারুল ইসলাম জানান, জেলায় উর্ধ্বগতি করোনা সংক্রমণ স্থিতিবস্থায় রয়েছে। মৃত্যুর হার এখনো কমেনি। সংক্রমণ আরও উর্ধ্বগতি হলে কিংবা রোধ করা না গেলে হাসপাতালের চিকিৎসা ব্যবস্থায় সংকট দেখা দিতে পারে বলে তিনি জানান।
