রোববার (১ আগস্ট) থেকে শিল্প কারখানা খোলার ঘোষণায় কঠোর লকডাউন উপেক্ষা করে জীবিকার তাগিদে কর্মস্থলে ফিরতে শুরু করেছে মানুষ। এসময় মহাসড়কে চলছে ও যাত্রী উঠাতে দেখা গেছে দূরপাল্লার বাসের। পাশাপাশি অধিক যাত্রী নিয়ে ঢাকা, গাজীপুর ও চন্দ্রার উদ্দেশ্যে ছেড়ে যাচ্ছে ট্রাক-পিকআপ। এছাড়াও বাসস্ট্যান্ডে রয়েছে কর্মস্থলে ফিরতি মানুষের উপচে পড়া ভীড়।
শনিবার (৩১ জুলাই) দুপুর সোয়া ১টার দিকে সিরাজগঞ্জ মহাসড়কের কড্ডা এলাকায় দেখা গেছে এই চিত্র।
উত্তরবঙ্গ-ঢাকা মহাসড়কের কড্ডা বাসস্ট্যান্ডে বাসে যাত্রী উঠানো হচ্ছে ৪০০ থেকে ৬০০ টাকা করে আর ট্রাকে ২০০ থেকে ৪০০ পর্যন্ত। শিল্পকারখানা খুলে দেয়ার ঘোষণায় বিশেষ করে শ্রমিকরা যেন কর্মস্থলে ফিরতে মরিয়া হয়ে উঠেছে। নেই কোনো করোনা আতঙ্ক, উপেক্ষিত হচ্ছে স্বাস্থ্যবিধি। গণপরিবহন চলাচল নিষেধ থাকলেও মানা হচ্ছে না।
দূর্জয় কুমার নামে চন্দ্রা এলাকার এক টেক্সটাইল কর্মী কড্ডা এলাকায় বলেন, বাসে ৫০০ ও ট্রাকে ৪০০ টাকা ভাড়া নিচ্ছে। তবুও যেকোনোভাবে কর্মস্থলে যেতেই হবে।
হায়দায় নামের এক ট্রাক চালক বলেন, ৪০০ টাকা করে ভাড়া নিয়ে কড্ডা থেকে চন্দ্রা পর্যন্ত যাচ্ছি। তিনি আরও বলেন, সেতু পশ্চিম পাশের পুলিশ হঠাৎ দু-একটি গাড়ি দাড়া করালেও বেশিরভাগ ট্রাকই বিনা বাধায় সেতু পার হয়ে যাচ্ছে।
বঙ্গবন্ধু সেতু পশ্চিম থানার ভারপ্রাপ্ত কর্মকর্তা (ওসি) মো. মোসাদ্দেক হোসেন বলেন, যেহেতু আগামীকাল থেকে শিল্পকারখানা খুলে দেয়ার ঘোষণা দেয়া হয়েছে তাই যে যেভাবে পারছে কর্মস্থলে যাওয়ার চেষ্টা করছে। আমরা করোনার কারণে স্বাস্থ্যবিধি মেনে যতটুকু সম্ভব বাধা দেয়ার চেষ্টা করছি। এছাড়াও মেট্রোরেলের প্রত্যয়নপত্র নিয়ে কিছু বাস যাচ্ছে।
কড্ডা এলাকার দায়িত্বরত ট্রাফিক ইন্সপেক্টর (টিআই) মো. আব্দুল গণি বলেন, গার্মেন্টস কর্মীরা যে যেভাবে পারছে যাওয়ার চেষ্টা করছে। এছাড়াও ট্রাকগুলো দূরে দাড়িয়ে থেকে আমাদের চোখ ফাঁকি দিয়ে যাত্রী নিয়ে যাচ্ছে। তবে বাস চলাচলের বিষয়ে কিছু বলেননি এই কর্মকর্তা।
