২৪ ঘন্টা নিরলসভাবে ডাক্তারের পাশাপাশি কুষ্টিয়া জেনারেল হাসপাতালে সেবাপ্রদানের মাধ্যমে গতকাল ৪ আগষ্ট ২০২১ তারিখে ৫০০ দিন পার করলো কুষ্টিয়া জেলা ছাত্রলীগ। জীবন বাজি রেখে জেলা ছাত্রলীগের সুযোগ্য সাধারণ সম্পাদক শেখ হাফিজ চ্যালেঞ্জ এর নেত্রৃত্বে একঝাঁক সেচ্ছাসেবী ছাত্রলীগের নেতাকর্মী বিগত ৫০০ দিন ধরে করোনা রোগীদের যাবতীয় সেবা মুলক কাজ বিরতিহীন ভাবে করে যাচ্ছে। দেখা গেছে হাসপাতালে ভর্তির পর থেকে প্রতিটি রোগীরই বাবা মা অথবা অভিভাবক এর ভুমিকা পালন করে থাকে এই সেচ্ছাসেবী ছাত্রলীগ কর্মী গুলো।
এ ছাড়াও করোনা পজেটিভ রোগীর বাসায় গিয়েও সুস্থ করার জন্য যাবতীয় সহযোগিতা করে আসছে এই কর্মীগুলো৷ কোন কিছুর আসায় না, নয় কোন স্বার্থে, শুধু মাত্র দেশের এই ক্লান্তিলগ্নে নিজেদেরকে দেশও দশের স্বার্থে এবং বিবেকের তাড়নায় তারা ঝাপিয়ে পরেছে এই সেবা মূলক কাজে। যখন নিজের বাবা,মা অথবা স্ত্রী, স্বামী করোনা পজেটিভ হয়ে হাসপাতালের বিছানার কাতর, তখন নিজেদের সেভ রাখতে পরিবারের সবাই দূরে রয়েছে নিজেরা আক্রান্ত হবার ভয়ে অথচ তখন এই ছাত্রলীগ কর্মীরা অসহায় রোগীদের বাবা অথবা ছেলের ভুমিকায় দেখা গেছে। এই ৫০০ দিনে একাধিক লাশের দাফন, দাহ করেছে, স্বজনেরা লাশের কাছেই আসেনি করোনা হয়ে যাবে ভেবে, কিন্তু নিজ দ্বায়িত্ববোধ এবং দেশকে ভালোবাসার প্রতিফলন হিসেবে এই সেচ্ছাসেবীরা কিন্তু স্বজনেরা না আসলেও লাশ গুলো ফেলে দেয়নি করোনাকে ভয় পেয়ে। তারা লাশের ধর্মীয় রীতি মেনে সমাপ্তি করেছে, এবং এখন পর্যন্ত করে যাচ্ছে। নিজেদের জীবনকে বাজিরেখে দেশ ও জাতীর বৃহত স্বার্থে অক্লান্ত পরিশ্রম করে যাচ্ছে কুষ্টিয়া জেলা ছাত্রলীগ। তাদের একটাই চাওয়া ও উদ্দেশ্য প্রতিটি করোনা রোগীই যেন আমাদের সহযোগিতায় আল্লাহর ইচ্ছাই সুস্থ করে তুলতে পারি সাথে তাদের পরিবারের কাছে সুস্থ ভাবে ফিরিয়ে দিতে পারি এবং একটা রোগীও যেন বিনা চিকিৎসা ও অবহেলাই পৃথিবীর মায়া ত্যাগ না করে।
এই সেচ্ছাসেবক টিমকে পরিচালনা কিরছেন জেলা ছাত্রলীগ এর সাধারণ সম্পাদক শেখ হাফিজ চ্যালেঞ্জ তার সাথে কথা হলে তিনি জানান গত ২১/০৩/২০২০ ইং,তারিখে কুষ্টিয়া ২৫০ শয্যা বিশিষ্ট হাসপাতালের আবাসিক চিকিৎসক ডাক্তার তাপস কুমার সরকার,কুষ্টিয়া মাটিও মানুষের নেতা বাংলাদেশ আওয়ামীলীগের যুগ্ম-সাধারণ জননেতা জনাব মাহবুবউল আলম হানিফ এমপি মহোদয়কে বলেন এই করোনা মহামারীর মোকাবেলায় কিছু সাহসী,শিক্ষিত জনবল দরকার,যারা স্বেচ্ছায় করোনা আক্রান্ত রোগীর সেবায় নিয়োজিত থাকবে, তখন প্রিয় নেতা বাংলাদেশ আওয়ামী লীগের যুগ্ম সাধারণ সম্পাদক জনাব মাহাবুব উল আলম হানিফ আমাদের নির্দেশ দেন,আমরা যেন তাদেরকে সাহায্য করি এবং এই করোনা মহামারী পরিস্থিতিতে নিজেদের সর্বোচ্চটা দিয়ে মানবতার হাত প্রসারিত করে মানুষের পাশে থাকি। তারপর করোনা সম্পর্কে আমাদের প্রাথমিক প্রশিক্ষণ দেন কুষ্টিয়া সদর হাসপাতালের মেডিসিন বিশেষজ্ঞ এ এস এম মুসা কবির। তিন দিনের বেসিক প্রশিক্ষণের মাধ্যমে আমরা ২২ মার্চ থেকে করোনা আক্রান্ত রোগীর সেবায় নিজেদের নিয়োজিত করি।
তিনি আরো বলেন মূলত আমরা বাংলাদেশ ছাত্রলীগ কুষ্টিয়া জেলা শাখার ৬৫ সদস্য বিশিষ্ট স্বেচ্ছাসেবক টিমের সদস্যরা ডাক্তার ও নার্স দের পাশাপাশি সহায়ক হিসেবে কাজ করে থাকি।আমরা কোন রোগীর অক্সিজেন সেচুরেশনের উপর ভিত্তি করে অক্সিজেন সরবরাহ করি,রোগীর মেডিসিন সরবরাহ,খাবার সরবরাহ,বিশুদ্ধ পানি সরবরাহ,করোনা আক্রান্ত রোগী ওয়ার্ডে নেওয়া,কোন রোগী ছুটি হলে বা উন্নত চিকিৎসার জন্য অন্য কোথাও গেলে আমরা সেই রোগীকে ওয়ার্ড থেকে বেরকরে দেওয়ার কাজ করি,যদি কোন রোগী মারা যায়,আর তার সৎকার যদি কেউ করতে নাচাই বা কেউ যদি সৎকারের জন্যে আমাদের সাহায্য চাই, তাহলে আমরা ধর্মীয় আচার ও স্বাস্থ্য বিধি মেনে তার সৎকার করি,এছাড়াও আমরা জননেতা জনাব মাহবুবউল আলম হানিফ ভাইয়ের পক্ষ থেকে অসহায় ও গরীব রোগীদের মেডিসিন কিনে দেওয়া,খাবার কিনে দেওয়া,যদি ব্লাড প্রয়োজন হয়তো সেই ব্লাড দেওয়ার যাবতীয় ব্যবস্থা করি,যদি কেউ আর্থিকভাবে অসচ্ছলতার কারণে এ্যাম্বুলেন্স বা কোন ট্রান্সপোর্ট ভাড়া করতে নাপারে তাহলে তাদের সেই ব্যবস্থাও করেদেয় তাছাড়া রমজান মাসে ইফতার ও সেহেরি বিতরণ করি,কঠোর লকডাউনের কারণে যদি খাবার দোকান না খোলা থাকে তাহলে খাবর দেয়,এবং রোগীর দ্রুত সুস্থতার জন্য হানিফ ভাইয়ের দেওয়া প্রোটিন সমৃদ্ধ খাবার সরবরাহ করি,২৫০ শয্যা বিশিষ্ট হাসপাতালে আসা রোগীদের ও স্বজনদের শতভাগ মাস্ক ব্যবহার নিশ্চিত করার লক্ষ্যেও কাজ করি।
তিনি আবেগ মাখা কন্ঠে বলেন দিনের পর দিন দেখেছি জীবন কতোটা তুচ্ছ,কতো প্রাণ ঝরেছে এই করোনাই। রোগীর যেমন ঈদ কেটেছে হসপিটালে চিকিৎসা নিয়ে ঠিক তেমনি আমাদের ৪ টি ঈদ কেটেছে হসপিটালে রোগীর সাথে,একঈদে রোগী ও রোগীর লোকজন আমার কাছে আসলো,তখন আপরা ঈদের দিনের ডিউটির রোস্টার করছিলাম,তখন উনারা বলছেন ভাই আপনার ঈদে বাড়িতে যাবেননা দয়া করে,তখন আমি মজা করে বলেছিলাম আমরা ঈদ করবোনা,তখন উনারা বলেছিলেন ভাই,আপনারা গত তিনটা ঈদ করেছেন এই হসপিটালে এটাও করেন,নাহলে এই রোগী গুলোর দেখার কেউ নাই ভাই,সব মারা যাবে,আপনাদের রাখার জন্যে কাকে বলতে হবে বলেন,প্রয়োজনে আমরা আপনাদের খাবার রান্না করে এনেদিবো,তারপরও আপনারা যাবেননা,আমরা তখন আমাদের ঈদের ডিউটির রোস্টার দেখালাম,তখন দেখিকি উনাদের চোখে পানি,কতো কতো দোয়া ও ভালোবাসা পেয়েছি উনাদের কাছ থেকে।
হিন্দু লাস সৎকার করেছি,আমরা লাস সৎকার করছি আর সবাই ভিডিও বানাচ্ছে আমাদের কিন্তু কেউ আসেনাই। এই ৫০০ দিনে তারা ৩৮ টা লাস দাফন করেছে এবং দুইটা হিন্দু লাস চিতাই পুড়িয়েছে, এছাড়াও প্রায় ৭০ এর বেশি লাস আমরা গসুল করিয়েছে।
আর এই সেবা দিতে গিয়ে ছাত্রলীগের সেচ্ছাসেবকদের মধ্যে ৩৭ জন করোনা পজেটিভ হয়, পর্যায়ক্রমে তারা সুস্থ হয়ে ওঠে এখন চার জন ছাত্রলীগের সেচ্ছাসেবক ৪ জন করোনা পজেটিভ হয়ে চিকিৎসাধীন অবস্থায় আছে।
