কুষ্টিয়া পল্লী বিদ্যুৎ সমিতির তালবাড়িয়া ইয়ার্ড থেকে ট্রাক যোগে বিদ্যুতের বড় খুটি ট্রাক লোড করে চুরি করে নিয়ে যাওয়ার সময় লালন শাহ সেতু থেকে আজ মঙ্গলবার দুপুরে পল্লী বিদ্যুতের কর্মকর্তা ও পুলিশ অভিযান চালিয়ে ট্রাক বোঝাই বিদ্যুতের খুটি ও গাড়ী আটক করে। সেসময় গাড়ীর ড্রাইভার বারখাদা এলাকার জাহাঙ্গীর ও একই এলাকার হেলপার পিয়ার আলীকে আটক করা হয়। এই ঘটনার সত্যতা নিশ্চিত করেন কুষ্টিয়া পল্লী বিদ্যুতের জেনারেল ম্যানেজার নাসির উদ্দিন।
জানা যায়, ঠিকাদারের সহযোগি সেলিমের যোগসাজসে লেবার সরদার সাঈদ উভয় মিলে তালবাড়িয়া পল্লী বিদ্যুতের ইয়ার্ড থেকে বিদ্যুতের খুটি নিয়ে গাড়ী যোগে রুপপুরে বিক্রয়ের উদ্যেশ্যে পাঠায়। সে সময় পল্লী বিদ্যুতের জেনারেল ম্যানেজার নাসির উদ্দিন খবর পেয়ে তিনি নিজে ও ডেপুটি জেনারেল ম্যানেজার, দেবাশীষ কুমার ভট্টাচার্য্য এবং ডেপুটি জেনারেল ম্যানেজার (টেকনিক্যাল) প্রকৌ: রঞ্জন কুমার ঘোষ কে সাথে নিয়ে পুলিশের সহযোগিতায় লালন শাহ ব্রীজ এলাকা থেকে ট্রাক বোঝাই খুটি সহ তাদের কে আটক করে মিরপুর থানায় পাঠায়।
এই ব্যাপারে কুষ্টিয়া পল্লী বিদ্যুৎ সমিতির জেনারেল ম্যানেজার নাসির উদ্দিন জানান, তালবাড়িয়া ইয়ার্ড থেকে এক ঠিকাদারের সহযোগি বারখাদা জুগিয়া এলাকার সেলিম ও লেবার সরদার আবু সাঈদ মিলে এই খুটি রুপপুর বিক্রয় করেন। রুপপুরের একটি মোবাইল নাম্বার উদ্ধার করা হয়েছে। সেই নাম্বারে কল করলে বার বার কেটে দিচ্ছে। এই ঘটনায় মিরপুর থানায় ৬জনকে আসামী করে সহকারী জেনারেল ম্যানেজার(ই এন্ড সি) প্রকৌ: বিশুদ্বানন্দ পুরাব্রাম্মন বাদী হয়ে মামলার প্রস্তুতি চলছে। আসামীরা হলেন, গাড়ীর ড্রাইভার বারখাদা এলাকার জাহাঙ্গীর ও হেলপার পিয়ার আলী, পল্লী বিদুত্যের রবির ঠিকাদারি প্রতিষ্ঠানের সহযোগী সেলিম, লেবার সরদার আবু সাঈদ ও সদর উদ্দিন সহ অজ্ঞাত একজন।
এলাকাবাসী সুত্রে জানা যায়, ঠিকাদারের সহযোগী সেলিম এই অপকর্ম করে জিরো থেকে কোটিপতি বনে গিয়েছেন। তার অর্থ সম্পদের কোন অভাব নেই। তদন্ত করলেই বেড়িয়ে আসবে থলের বিড়াল।
এই ব্যাপারে মিরপুর থানার পুলিশ পরিদর্শক (তদন্ত) সুব্রত কুমার জানান, পল্লী বিদ্যুতের খুটি সহ ২জনকে আটক করা হয়েছে। মামলার প্রস্তুতি চলছে।
