ঘটনার সত্যতা নিশ্চিত করে উপজেলা নির্বাহী অফিসার লিংকন বিশ্বাস বলেন, “গত বুধবার ১৬ আগস্ট বিভিন্ন অনিয়মের অভিযোগ তুলে আমলা ইউনিয়ন পরিষদের চেয়ারম্যান আনোয়ারুল ইসলাম মালিথার বিরুদ্ধে একটি অনাস্থাপত্র দিয়েছেন ঐ ইউনিয়ন পরিষদের ৮জন সদস্য। বিষয়টি তদন্ত সাপক্ষে প্রয়োজনীয় ব্যবস্থা গ্রহণ করা হবে।
অন্যদিকে অভিযুক্ত ইউপি চেয়ারম্যান আনোয়ারুল ইসলাম মালিথা বলেন, আমার বিরুদ্ধে মিথ্যা বানোয়াট ভিত্তিহীন অভিযোগ রাজনৈতিক প্রতিহিংসা বশত করা হয়েছে।
ইউপি সদস্যদের দেওয়া অনাস্থা পত্র সুত্রে জানা যায়, আমলা ইউনিয়ন পরিষদের চেয়ারম্যান আনোয়ারুল ইসলাম মালিথা ইউপি সদস্যদের ভাতা প্রদান করেননি। কাবিটার ২০১৯-২০ অর্থবছরে আমলা সাগরখালি আশ্রয়ন প্রকল্পের রাস্তা মেরামত ও কালভার্টের কাজ নিন্মমানের সামগ্রী দিয়ে করা হয়েছে এবং সরকারি অর্থ আত্মস্যাৎ করেছে। বিধবা, বয়স্ক ও প্রতিবন্ধী ভাতার ক্ষেত্রে তিনি ভুক্তভুগিদের কাছ থেকে অবৈধভাবে টাকা নিয়েছেন। ভুয়া বিল ভাউচার দেখিয়ে সরকারী বরাদ্ধের টাকা উত্তোলনসহ বিভিন্ন অভিযোগ করেন ইউপি সদস্যরা।
