ঢাকা-আশুলিয়া এলিভেটেড এক্সপ্রেসওয়ের কাজে কোনো প্রকার নয়-ছয় করার সুযোগ নেই বলে দিয়েছেন সড়ক পরিবহন ও সেতুমন্ত্রী ওবায়দুল কাদের। শনিবার (২৫ সেপ্টেম্বর) আশুলিয়ায় ঢাকা-আশুলিয়া এলিভেটেড এক্সপ্রেসওয়ে নির্মাণ প্রকল্পের ‘স্ট্যাটিক লোড টেস্ট’র জন্য পাইলট পাইল বোরিং কাজের উদ্বোধনী অনুষ্ঠানে তিনি এ কথা বলেন।
ঢাকা-আশুলিয়া এলিভেটেড এক্সপ্রেসওয়ে প্রকল্পের সঙ্গে জড়িত কর্মকর্তাদের উদ্দেশ্যে মন্ত্রী বলেন, আমি পরিষ্কার বলে দিতে চাই, শতভাগ স্বচ্ছতার সঙ্গে সব প্রকল্পের নির্মাণকাজ শেষ করা হবে। এখানে কোনো নয়-ছয় করার সুযোগ নেই। মন্ত্রী জানান, ২০২৬ সালের জুনের ভেতর শেষ হবে ঢাকা-আশুলিয়া এলিভেটেড এক্সপ্রেসওয়ের নির্মাণকাজ। প্রায় ১৭ হাজার কোটি টাকা ব্যয়ে তৈরি হচ্ছে ঢাকার এই দ্বিতীয় এলিভেটেড এক্সপ্রেসওয়ে।
তিনি বলেন, আগামী দুই সপ্তাহের মধ্যে এ প্রকল্পের লোনচুক্তি সম্পন্ন হবে। আমাদের তহবিল সংক্রান্ত কোনো সমস্যা নেই।
চলাচলের সুবিধার্থে বর্তমান রাস্তাটিও রেখে দেওয়ার সুপারিশ করে মন্ত্রী বলেন, বর্তমানে যে রাস্তাটি আছে, এটা যেভাবে আছে থাকুক। অনেক মানুষ বিকল্প পথ হিসেবে এটি ব্যবহার করে। এখানে মানুষের যেন ভোগান্তি না হয় সেদিকে খেয়াল রাখতে হবে। রাস্তা যেন ব্যবহারের উপযোগী থাকে।
অনুষ্ঠানে ঢাকা-আশুলিয়া এলিভেটেড এক্সপ্রেসওয়ের প্রকল্প পরিচালক মো. শাহাবুদ্দিন খান, আশুলিয়া থানা আওয়ামী লীগের আহ্বায়ক ফারুক হাসান তুহিনসহ প্রকল্পের কর্মকর্তারা উপস্থিত ছিলেন।
