ধানের শীষ বিএনপির প্রতীক নয়, সংশোধন চেয়ে হাইকোর্টে রিট

নিজস্ব প্রতিবেদক : বাংলাদেশ জাতীয়তাবাদী দলের (বিএনপি) প্রতীকের নাম ‘ধানের শীষ’ সংশোধন চেয়ে হাইকোর্টে রিট দায়ের করা হয়েছে।

সোমবার (১৯ নভেম্বর) হাইকোর্টের সংশ্লিষ্ট শাখায় আইনজীবী হারুন অর রশিদ এ রিট দায়ের করেন।

হারুন উর রশীদ বলেন, ‘বিএনপির প্রতীকের সঙ্গে ধানের শীষের ছবির মিল নেই, ধানের ছড়ার মিল রয়েছে। এ কারণে রিটটি দায়ের করেছি। এখন হাইকোর্টের কার্যতালিকায় এলে বিচারপতি মইনুল ইসলাম চৌধুরী ও বিচারপতি মো. আশরাফুল কামালের সমন্বয়ে গঠিত হাইকোর্ট বেঞ্চে আবেদনটির শুনানি হতে পারে।’

নির্বাচন বিএনপি যে প্রতীক করছে, তা ভুল দাবি করে রিটকারী আইনজীবী বলেন, ‘বিএনপি বলছে তাদের প্রতীক ‘ধানের শীষ’ কিন্তু ছবিতে দেখা যাচ্ছে ‘ধানের ছড়া’। অর্থাৎ নামের সঙ্গে ছবির কোনো মিল নেই। ধানের শীষ আর ধানের ছড়া একই ধরনের না। বিএনপির প্রতীক হচ্ছে ধানের ছড়া। এ কারণে তাদের প্রতীক ঠিক থাকবে কিন্তু ধানের শীষের পরিবর্তে লিখতে হবে ধানের ছড়া।’

তিনি আরও বলেন , ‘বিএনপি এর আগেও কয়েকবার ক্ষমতায় ছিল। ওই সময় তারা প্রতীক বা প্রতীকের নাম সংশোধন করেনি। এটা তাদের ভুল ছিল। ১৯৯১ সালে আমি এই ভুলটি তাদের দৃষ্টিগোচর করলেও তারা সংশোধন করেনি। তাই প্রতিকার চেয়ে নড়াইলের এক বাসিন্দার পক্ষে হাইকোর্টে রিট দায়ের করা হয়েছে।’
