বিজ্ঞান ও প্রযুক্তি : সারা বিশ্বই যখন প্রাণঘাতী করোনা ভাইরাসের কারণে আতংকিত তখন সক্রিয় হয়ে উঠেছে হ্যাকাররা। করোনাকে হাতিয়ার করে মানুষকে ফাঁদে ফেলতে উঠে পড়ে লেগেছে সাইবার অপরাধীরা।
সম্প্রতি এমনই এক ঘটনা সামনে এসেছে। যেখানে একটি ওয়েবসাইট থেকে কয়েক মিলিয়ন ইউরো চুরি করল হ্যাকাররা। এই অর্থ করোনা মোকাবিলায় ত্রাণ হিসেবে ওই ওয়েবসাইটে দেওয়া হচ্ছিলো।
হ্যাকাররা জার্মানির উত্তর রাইন-ওয়েস্টফালিয়া প্রদেশের অফিসিয়াল ওয়েবসাইট থেকে এই অর্থ চুরি করেছে। যা বাংলাদেশি টাকায় প্রায় ২৯০ কোটি টাকার সমান।
দেশটিতে একটি সরকারি ওয়েবসাইটের মাধ্যমে ত্রাণের অর্থ সংগ্রহ করা হচ্ছিল। হ্যাকাররা ওই সরকারি ওয়েবসাইটের একটি কপি ওয়েবসাইট তৈরি করেছিল।
সুযোগসন্ধানী এই হ্যাকাররা তাদের তৈরি ওই ভুয়া ওয়েবসাইটের লিংকসহ ইমেইল ও মেসেজ পাঠিয়েছিল সাধারণ মানুষদের। এরপর মানুষ না বুঝে যখন তাদের ওয়েবসাইটে নিজেদের ডেটা সাবমিট করেছে, তখন হ্যাকাররা ওই ডেটা নিয়ে জালিয়াতির মাধ্যমে অর্থ আত্মসাৎ করে।
সরকারের কাছে এই প্রতারণা সম্পর্কে ৫৭৬টি রিপোর্ট জমা পড়ার পর অফিসিয়াল ওয়েবসাইট বন্ধ করা হয়।

ওই রিপোর্ট অনুযায়ী, এই স্ক্যাম মার্চের দ্বিতীয় সপ্তাহে শুরু হয়। সরকার সাহায্য করার জন্য ৩ লাখ ৮০ হাজার জনকে মেসেজ পাঠিয়েছিল। এর মধ্যে ৩ লাখ ৬০ হাজার জন সাড়া দেয়। এই ৩ লাখ ৬০ হাজারের মধ্যে তিন থেকে চার হাজার জনের টাকা হাতিয়ে নিয়েছে হ্যাকাররা।
