শাহবাগে গণজমায়েতে স্বরাষ্ট্রমন্ত্রীর পদত্যাগ দাবি

ধর্ষণের বিরুদ্ধে বাংলাদেশ এ স্লোগানে শাহবাগ মোড়ে জড়ো হওয়া গণজমায়েত থেকে স্বরাষ্ট্রমন্ত্রী আসাদুজ্জামান খান কামালের পদত্যাগের দাবি উঠেছে।

সোমবার (০৫ অক্টোবর) সকাল থেকেই নোয়াখালীর বেগমগঞ্জে এক নারীকে বিবস্ত্র করে নির্যাতনসহ সাম্প্রতিক সময়ে দেশের বিভিন্নস্থানে সংঘটিত ধর্ষণের ঘটনার প্রতিবাদে শাহবাগ মোড়ে অবস্থান নিতে শুরু করে ছাত্র ইউনিয়নের কর্মীসহ বিভিন্ন শ্রেণি-পেশার মানুষ।

সেখান থেকেই স্বরাষ্ট্রমন্ত্রীর দেওয়া পৃথিবীর সব জায়গায় ধর্ষণ হয় বক্তব্যের তীব্র প্রতিবাদ জানান তারা। এর পাশাপাশি দ্রুততম সময়ে ধর্ষকদের দৃষ্টান্তমূলক শাস্তিরও দাবি জানান তারা।

ছাত্র ইউনিয়নের কর্মীদের আহ্বানে সংঘটিত সড়ক অবরোধ কর্মসূচিতে যোগ দিয়ে সংগঠনের সাবেক সাধারণ সম্পাদক লিটন নন্দী বলেন, বর্তমানে দেশে ধর্ষণ জৈবিক বিকারের চেয়ে ক্ষমতার বিকারে পরিণত হয়েছে। আপনারা লক্ষ্য করবেন, সাম্প্রতিক সময়ে ঘটে যাওয়া প্রায় প্রতিটি ধর্ষণের ঘটনার সঙ্গে ক্ষমতাসীন দলের ছাত্র সংগঠন, যুব সংগঠনের নেতাকর্মীরা জড়িত। সে সময় ধর্ষণ সব জায়গায় হয় স্বরাষ্ট্রমন্ত্রীর এহেন মন্তব্য প্রমাণ করে তিনি পুরোপুরি ব্যর্থ। আমরা এই ব্যর্থ স্বরাষ্ট্রমন্ত্রীকে আর দেখতে চাই না।

ছাত্র ইউনিয়নের ঢাকা মহানগর শাখার সভাপতি জহর লাল রায় বলেন, কোনো ধর্ষণের ঘটনা ভাইরাল হলেই সেটি নিয়ে আলোচনা হয়, লোক দেখানো গ্রেপ্তাতার হয়। কিন্তু বিচার চলে বছরের পর বছর। এর ফাঁকে ক্ষমতার দাপট দেখিয়ে ধর্ষকরা জেল থেকে বেরিয়ে যায়। আমরা এ দৃশ্য আর দেখতে চাই না।

অবরোধ কর্মসূচিতে যোগ দিয়ে কবি-গায়ক শতাব্দী ভব বলেন, আমরা প্রতিটি ধর্ষণের ঘটনার বিচার চাই। সেইসঙ্গে এ দেশে মানুষের নিরাপত্তা চাই।

তিনি বলেন, যেসব বিষয়ে মানুষ উত্তেজিত হয়ে যায়, সেসব বিষয়ে গ্রেফতার করা হয়। বেগমগঞ্জের এ ঘটনা ৩২ দিন আগের। এ বিষয়ে প্রশাসন কী করেছে?

এদিকে, ধর্ষণবিরোধী গণজমায়েতের কারণে গণপরিবহন চলাচলে বিঘ্ন হচ্ছে। দেখা দিয়েছে তীব্র যানজট।
