দেশে গত ২৪ ঘণ্টায় নতুন করোনাভাইরাসে আরও ২৩ জনের মৃত্যু ঘটেছে। এতে মৃতের সংখ্যা বেড়ে ৫ হাজার ৬৪৬ জন হয়েছে। দেশে নতুন রোগী শনাক্ত হয়েছে ১ হাজার ২০৯ জন। আক্রান্তে সংখ্যা বেড়ে দাঁড়িয়েছে ৩ লাখ ৮৭ হাজার ২৯৫ জন।

শনিবার (১৭ অক্টোবর ) বিকেলে স্বাস্থ্য অধিদপ্তরের অতিরিক্ত মহাপরিচালক অধ্যাপক ডা. নাসিমা সুলতানা স্বাক্ষরিত এক প্রেস বিজ্ঞপ্তিতে এ তথ্য জানানো হয়।

এতে বলা হয়, ঢাকা সিটিসহ দেশের বিভিন্ন হাসপাতালে ও বাড়িতে উপসর্গ বিহীন রোগীসহ গত ২৪ ঘণ্টায় সুস্থ হয়েছেন এক হাজার ৫৬০ জন। এ পর্যন্ত মোট সুস্থ হয়েছেন তিন লাখ দুই হাজার ২৯৮ জন। সারাদেশে সরকারি ও বেসরকারি ব্যবস্থাপনায় ১১০টি ল্যাবে নমুনা সংগ্রহ ও পরীক্ষা হয়েছে। গত ২৪ ঘণ্টায় নমুনা সংগ্রহ হয়েছে ১১ হাজার ১২টি। আগের নমুনাসহ মোট নমুনা পরীক্ষা করা হয়েছে ১১ হাজার ৫৭৩টি। এ পর্যন্ত নমুনা পরীক্ষা হয়েছে ২১ লাখ ৫১ হাজার ৭০২টি।
