নিজস্ব প্রতিবেদক : শিমুলিয়া-বাংলাবাজার নৌরুটে ঘন কুয়াশার কারণে ফেরি চলাচল বন্ধ রয়েছে। সোমবার (১৮ জানুয়ারি) দিবাগত রাত সাড়ে ১২টা থেকে ফেরি চলাচল বন্ধ রাখা হয়েছে। এছাড়া মঙ্গলবার (১৯ জানুয়ারি) সকাল থেকে লঞ্চ ও স্পিডবোট চলাচলও বন্ধ রাখা হয়েছে।
বাংলাবাজার ঘাট সূত্রে জানা গেছে, সোমবার রাত সাড়ে ১২টার দিকে কুয়াশার ঘনত্ব বেড়ে গেলে নৌরুটের দিক নির্দেশনামূলক বাতি ঝাপসা হয়ে আসে। এ সময় দুর্ঘটনা এড়াতে ফেরি চলাচল বন্ধ রাখে কর্তৃপক্ষ। এছাড়াও চলাচলরত বেশ কয়েকটি ফেরি পদ্মা নদীর বিভিন্ন স্থানে নোঙর করে রাখা হয়েছে।
বিআইডব্লিউটিএর বাংলাবাজার লঞ্চ ঘাটের ট্রাফিক ইন্সপেক্টর আক্তার হোসেন বলেন,’আজও গতকালকের মতো প্রচুর কুয়াশা পড়েছে। সকাল থেকেই লঞ্চ ও স্পিডবোট চলাচল বন্ধ রয়েছে। কুয়াশা কমে গেলে চলাচল শুরু করবে।
বিআইডব্লিউটিসির বাংলাবাজার ফেরিঘাটের সহকারী ব্যবস্থাপক মো. জামিল হোসেন জানান, ঘন কুয়াশার কারণে দুর্ঘটনা এড়াতে সাড়ে ১২টা থেকে ফেরি চলাচল বন্ধ রাখা হয়েছে।
এছাড়া ঢাকা-মাওয়া এক্সপ্রেসওয়েতেও ঘন কুয়াশার কারণে বাস চলছে খুব ধীর গতিতে। কুয়াশার তীব্রতায় রাস্তাঘাটেও লোকজনের চলাচল কমে গেছে।
