দেশের অন্যতম করোনা সংক্রমিত জেলা মুন্সিগঞ্জ৷ তবে চলতি বছরের জানুয়ারি, ফেব্রুয়ারি ও মার্চ মাসে আক্রান্তের সংখ্যা তুলনামূলক কম থাকলেও এপ্রিলে আবারো বাড়ছে সে সংখ্যা।
জেলা স্বাস্থ্য বিভাগের পরিসংখ্যান অনুযায়ী, এ জেলায় নমুনা পরীক্ষাকারী প্রতি পাঁচজনের মধ্যে একজনের করোনা শনাক্ত হচ্ছে।
জেলা সিভিল সার্জন অফিসের তথ্য অনুযায়ী, এপ্রিল মাসের ১ থেকে ১৭ তারিখ পর্যন্ত আক্রান্ত হয়েছে ৫৭৯ জন। যা গত তিনমাসের মোট আক্রান্তের চেয়েও বেশি। আগের তিনমাসে মোট আক্রান্ত হয়েছিল ৩৭২ জন।
২০২০ সালের ১১ এপ্রিল জেলায় সর্বপ্রথম করোনা শনাক্ত হয়। সে মাসে মোট আক্রান্ত হয় ৭৯ জন। পরবর্তীতে মে মাসে ৬৩০ জন, জুন মাসে এক হাজার ৩৯৭ জন, জুলাই মাসে ৬৪৩ জন, আগস্ট মাসে ৪৬৮ জন, সেপ্টেম্বর মাসে ২৭৮ জন, অক্টোবর মাসে ২২৬ জন, নভেম্বর মাসে ৩২২ জন ও ডিসেম্বর মাসে ৩২৫ জন করোনায় আক্রান্ত হয়।
আর চলতি বছরের জানুয়ারি মাসে ৬৯ জন, ফেব্রুয়ারি মাসে ২৭ জন, ও মার্চ মাসে ২৭৬ জনের করোনা শনাক্ত হয়েছে।
এদিকে শনিবার (১৭ই এপ্রিল) জেলা নতুন করে আরও ৩৯ জনের করোনা শনাক্ত হয়েছে। একইসঙ্গে গত ২৪ ঘণ্টায় সুস্থ হয়েছেন ২৫ জন।
এ নিয়ে জেলায় এ পর্যন্ত সর্বমোট পাঁচ হাজার ৩০৯ জনের করোনা শনাক্ত হলো। এরমধ্যে মারা গেছেন ৭০ জন। আর সুস্থ হয়েছেন চার হাজার ৭০৫ জন।
করোনা শনাক্তদের মধ্যে সদর উপজেলায় দুই হাজার ৬০৬ জন, টঙ্গীবাড়িতে ৩৭৫ জন, সিরাজদিখানে ৮৮৫ জন, লৌহজংয়ে ৪৮৮ জন, শ্রীনগরে ৫১৫ জন এবং গজারিয়ায় ৪৪০ জন রয়েছেন।
করোনায় এ পর্যন্ত মারা গেছেন সদর উপজেলায় ৩৫ জন, টঙ্গীবাড়িতে ৯ জন, সিরাজদিখানে ৯ জন, লৌহজংয়ে আটজন, শ্রীনগরে ছয়জন এবং গজারিযায় তিনজন।
অন্যদিকে জেলায় শনিবার পর্যন্ত প্রথম ধাপে ৪৫ হাজার ৯২৯ জন ও দ্বিতীয় ধাপে ১২ হাজার ১৫০ জনকে টিকা দেয়া হয়েছে।
জেলা সিভিল সার্জন ডা. আবুল কালাম আজাদ জানান, দেশব্যাপী করোনায় আক্রান্তের হার বাড়ছে। এ অবস্থায় লকডাউন ও স্বাস্থ্যবিধি মেনে চলার বিকল্প নেই। স্বাস্থ্যবিধি মেনে ও সচেতনভাবে চললে করোনা মোকাবিলা করা সম্ভব।
