আবেদনের ওপর শুনানি করেন অ্যাডভোকেট আব্দুল বাসেত মজুমদার ও সাঈদ আহমেদ রাজা। সরকারপক্ষে শুনানিতে অংশ নেন অ্যাটর্নি জেনারেল এএম আমিন উদ্দিন, অতিরিক্ত অ্যাটর্নি জেনারেল শেখ মোহাম্মদ মোরশেদ ও ডেপুটি অ্যাটর্নি জেনারেল বিশ্বজিৎ দেবনাথ।

এর আগে গত ১৮ মার্চ ইরফান সেলিমকে জামিন দেন হাইকোর্ট। ওই জামিন আদেশের বিরুদ্ধে সরকারপক্ষের আবেদনের শুনানি শেষে গত ২৮ মার্চ ৪ সপ্তাহের জন্য তার জামিন স্থগিত করেন আপিল বিভাগের চেম্বার জজ। পরে জামিনের ওপর দেয়া স্থগিতাদেশ প্রত্যাহার চেয়ে আবেদন করেন ইরফান সেলিম। সেটিও শুনানির জন্য পূর্ণাঙ্গ বেঞ্চে পাঠান চেম্বার কোর্ট।
