প্রধানমন্ত্রী শেখ হাসিনা জানিয়েছেন, দেশে একজন মানুষও গৃহহীন থাকবে না। মঙ্গলবার (৩ আগস্ট) মিরপুর-১১ নম্বর সেকশনে জাতীয় গৃহায়ণ কর্তৃপক্ষ কর্তৃক নির্মিত বস্তিবাসীদের জন্য ৩০০ ফ্ল্যাটের বরাদ্দপত্র হস্তান্তরকালে প্রধানমন্ত্রী এ কথা বলেন।
মাসে মাত্র সাড়ে চার হাজার টাকা ভাড়া দিয়ে আধুনিক সুযোগ-সুবিধা সংবলিত বহুতল ভবনে থাকার সুযোগ পাচ্ছে ঢাকায় বসবাসরত বস্তিবাসীরা। এ লক্ষ্যে ১০ হাজার বহুতল ভবন নির্মাণ করছে সরকার। এই উদ্যোগের অংশ হিসেবে বস্তিবাসীদের জন্য ৩০০ ফ্ল্যাটের বরাদ্দপত্র হস্তান্তর করলেন প্রধানমন্ত্রী। দ্বিতীয় দফায় বাকি ২৩৩টি ফ্ল্যাট হস্তান্তর করা হবে। লিফট, জেনারেটর, সৌরবিদ্যুৎ, প্রশস্ত ওয়াকওয়ে, বিদ্যুতের সাবস্টেশন ও সৌন্দর্যবর্ধনের লাইটিংসহ আধুনিকতায় সমৃদ্ধ করা হচ্ছে জায়গাটি।
৬২০ থেকে ৭১৯ বর্গফুট আয়তনের প্রতিটি ফ্ল্যাটে রয়েছে দুটি করে বেডরুম, একটি বারান্দা, একটি ড্রয়িং রুম, বেসিন, রান্নাঘর ও দু’টি বাথরুম। ফ্ল্যাটের দুই পাশে ফাঁকা জায়গা। ফ্ল্যাটগুলো টাইলস করা।
প্রধানমন্ত্রী আরও বলেন, যারা ঢাকায় থাকছে তারা ভাড়া দিয়ে থাকবে। বস্তিতে ভাড়া দিয়েই তো থাকতে হয়। নানা অসুবিধায় থাকতে হয়। মাসে, সপ্তাহে, দিনে ভাড়া দিতে পারবে এভাবেই ফ্ল্যাটগুলো করেছি, যাতে সুস্থ্য পরিবেশে থাকতে পারে। যারা বস্তির মধ্যে আছেন তাদের জন্য ভালো আবাসন আমরা করে দেব।
প্রধানমন্ত্রী বলেন, বস্তিতে বাস করা কেউ ঘরে ফিরতে চাইলে আশ্রয়ণ প্রকল্পের মাধ্যমে জমিসহ ঘর দেব। ছয় মাস যেন তারা চলতে পারে সে ব্যবস্থাও করব। ঘরে ফেরা কর্মসূচি আবার শুরু করব।
২০১৭ সালে এই পরিকল্পনা গ্রহণ করেন বঙ্গবন্ধুকন্যা শেখ হাসিনা। এর মধ্যদিয়ে আরেকটি মানবিকতার নজির সৃষ্টি করলেন তিনি। ২০১৭ সালের ২৬ অক্টোবর এ প্রকল্পের ভিত্তিপ্রস্তর স্থাপন করা হয়।
উল্লেখ্য, সরকারি উদ্যোগে বস্তিবাসীদের জন্য নির্মিত এসব ফ্ল্যাটে আধুনিক সব সুবিধা রাখা হয়েছে। তবে ফ্রি নয়, মাত্র সাড়ে চার হাজার টাকা ভাড়ায় এখানে থাকবেন নগর জীবনের সবচেয়ে সুবিধাবঞ্চিত বস্তিবাসীরা।
মিরপুর ১১ নম্বর সেকশনে বস্তিবাসীদের জন্য সর্বমোট ১০ হাজার ফ্ল্যাট নির্মাণ করা হবে। এ প্রকল্পের ব্যয় ধরা হয়েছে মোট ১৪৮ কোটি টাকা। দ্বিতীয় পর্যায়ে ফ্ল্যাট বরাদ্দ দেয়া হবে আরও ১০০১টি পরিবারকে। এর মধ্য দিয়ে বস্তিতে থাকা ১০ হাজার পরিবার নতুন ফ্ল্যাটে থাকার সুযোগ পাবেন।
