জাতীয়তাবাদী ছাত্রদল কেন্দ্রীয় সংসদের ঢাকা বিভাগীয় সহ-সাংগঠনিক সম্পাদক ও নারায়ণগঞ্জ জেলা সভাপতি মশিউর রহমান রনিকে রাজধানীর মগবাজার থেকে গ্রেফতারের ঘটনায় তীব্র নিন্দা ও প্রতিবাদ জানিয়েছেন বিএনপির মহাসচিব মির্জা ফখরুল ইসলাম আলমগীর।
শনিবার (২১ আগস্ট) দিনগত রাতে এক বিবৃতিতে বিএনপি মহাসচিব বলেন, ‘বর্তমান অবৈধ সরকারের পায়ের নিচের মাটি সরে গেছে বলেই তারা আইনশৃঙ্খলা বাহিনীর ওপর ভর করেছে।
বিএনপিকে দমন করতে সরকার আইনশৃঙ্খলা বাহিনী দিয়ে বিএনপি এবং এর অঙ্গ ও সহযোগী সংগঠনের নেতাকর্মীদের বিরুদ্ধে লেলিয়ে দিয়েছে। ক্ষমতার দাপটে নেতাকর্মীদের পাইকারি হারে গ্রেফতার করতে বেপরোয়া হয়ে উঠেছে। ’
তিনি বলেন, ‘৩০ ডিসেম্বরের নির্বাচনের আগের রাতে ভোটের মাধ্যমে নির্লজ্জভাবে দখলকৃত রাষ্ট্রক্ষমতা আঁকড়ে রেখে আওয়ামী সরকার এখন ফ্যাসিবাদের চরম মাত্রায় এসে উপনীত হয়েছে। বিরোধী দলগুলোকে রাজনীতির ময়দান থেকে সরিয়ে দিতে নেতাকর্মীদের গ্রেফতার করা যেন সরকারের রুটিন ওয়ার্কে পরিণত হয়েছে। দেশকে বিরোধী দল শূন্য করার ধারাবাহিক অপকর্মের অংশ হিসেবে ছাত্রদল কেন্দ্রীয় সংসদের সহ-সাংগঠনিক সম্পাদক মশিউর রহমান রনিকে গ্রেফতার করা হয়েছে। ’
বিএনপির মহাসচিব বলেন, ‘করোনা ভাইরাসের কারণে জনজীবনে যখন ত্রাহি ত্রাহি অবস্থা, তখন সরকার তাদের ব্যর্থতা ঢাকতেই দেশব্যাপী বিএনপি, অঙ্গ ও সহযোগী সংগঠনের নেতাকর্মীদের মিথ্যা মামলায় কারাগারে আটকে রাখার হিড়িক শুরু করেছে। এটি গণবিরোধী সরকারের চলমান নিরবচ্ছিন্ন দমন নীতিরই বহিঃপ্রকাশ। তবে সব অপকর্ম ও অপশাসনের অবসান ঘটাতে জনগণ এখন ঐক্যবদ্ধ। দল, মত নির্বিশেষে সবাইকে বর্তমান নিষ্ঠুর শাসকগোষ্ঠীর ভয়াবহ দুঃশাসনের বিরুদ্ধে প্রতিরোধ গড়ে তোলার বিকল্প নেই। ’
বিএনপির মহাসচিব মশিউর রহমান রনির বিরুদ্ধে দায়েরকৃত অসত্য ও ভিত্তিহীন মামলা প্রত্যাহার এবং অবিলম্বে তার নিঃশর্ত মুক্তির জোর দাবি জানান।
