ভারতের কমেডি কুইন ভারতী সিং। নিজের ওজন নিয়ে কখনোই বিচলিত হননি এই কমেডিয়ান। বিভিন্ন সময় নিজের ওজন বেশি হওয়া নিয়ে নানা কৌতুক করেছেন তিনি। এবার ৯১ থেকে কমিয়ে তার ওজন ৭৬ কেজিতে নামিয়ে এনেছেন। ডায়েট ছাড়া ১৫ কেজি ওজন কমিয়ে নতুন রূপে হাজির হয়েছেন ভারতী।

কারো জন্যই নিজেকে বদলানোর চিন্তা মাথায় আনেননি এই কমেডিয়ান। দ্বিতীয় লকডাউনের সময় থেকেই বাড়ির সব কাজ একা হাতেই করতেন ভারতী। তখনই বুঝতে পারেন অল্পতেই হাঁপিয়ে উঠছেন, শারীরিকভাবে ফিট নন তিনি। অভিনেতা-অভিনেত্রীদের থেকে আগেই জেনেছিলেন কীভাবে অনেকক্ষণ না খেয়ে থাকা যায়। পরে নিজেও শুরু করলেন সেই একই পদ্ধতি।

এ প্রসঙ্গে ভারতী সিং বলেন, ‘আগে আমার শ্বাস নিতে সমস্যা হতো। এখন আর সমস্যা হয় না। নিজেকে অনেক হালকা লাগে। আমার ডায়াবেটিস আর অ্যাজমাও এখন নিয়ন্ত্রণে রয়েছে।’

কীভাবে ওজন কমিয়েছেন সেটির বর্ণনা দিয়ে এই কমেডিয়ান বলেন, ‘সন্ধ্যা সাতটা থেকে রাত ১২টা পর্যন্ত আমি কিছু খাই না। সন্ধ্যা সাতটার আগেই রাতের খাবার খেয়ে নিই। ৩০-৩২ বছর অনেক খাবার খেয়েছি। এবার আমার শরীরের কিছু পরিবর্তন প্রয়োজন।’

তিনি আরও বলেন, ‘আগের মতো সাধারণ খাবারই খাচ্ছি। পাঞ্জাবী বলে কথা! পরোটা, ডিম, ডাল-সবজি ছাড়া বাঁচা দায়।’

ওজন কমিয়ে বেজায় খুশি ভারতী। এবার শুধু নিয়মিত রুটিন চালিয়ে যাওয়ার পালা। কোনও ডায়েট নয়, অধিক শরীরচর্চাও নয়। শুধু অভ্যাস পরিবর্তন আর অনিয়ম থেকে বেরিয়ে এসেছেন তিনি। সঠিক সময়েই খাবার খাচ্ছেন এবং পরিমাণ বেশ কম তা বলাই বাহুল্য। নতুন রূপে কাপিল শর্মা শোতে ভারতীকে দেখে মুগ্ধ সবাই। নিজের এই পরিবর্তনে আপ্লুত তিনি নিজেও।

ভারতী আগেও জানিয়েছিলেন যে, ওজন নিয়ে তার কোনো সমস্যা নেই। অনেকে কটাক্ষ করলেও কখনোই অন্যের কথায় ওজন কমানোর চিন্তা করেননি। তাকে নিয়ে হাসাহাসি করা ছিল সাধারণ বিষয়। এজন্য নিজেকে আগে থেকেই হাসির পাত্র করার চেষ্টা করতেন তিনি। নিজেকে নিয়েই মজা করতেন।
