কুষ্টিয়ায় মামার বিয়েতে এসে ভাগ্নের মৃত্যু!

কুষ্টিয়া সদরে মামার বিয়ে খেতে গিয়ে খালের পানিতে ডুবে রিয়াদ গনি নামের দেড় বছর এক শিশুর মৃত্যু হয়েছে। শনিবার (১১ সেপ্টেম্বর) বেলা ১২টার দিকে কুষ্টিয়া সদর উপজেলার হরিপুর ইউনিয়নের ৪ নম্বর ওয়ার্ডের খাস বোয়ালদহ (ঘোড়াই) গ্রামে এ দুর্ঘটনা ঘটে। এঘটনায় বিয়ের আনন্দ উৎসবে শোকের ছায়া নেমে এসেছে।

নিহত শিশু রিয়াদ গনি কুষ্টিয়া পৌরসভার ৮ নম্বর ওয়ার্ডের আড়ুয়াপাড়া ১ নম্বর মসজিদ গলি এলাকার ওসমান গনির ছেলে।

পুলিশ, নিহতের পরিবার ও স্থানীয় সূত্রে জানা গেছে, শুক্রবার বিকালে মায়ের সাথে নানার বাড়ি যায় রিয়াদ। আগামী শুক্রবার তার মামার বিয়ে। বিয়ে উপলক্ষে রিয়াদের নানা বাড়িতে আনন্দ উৎসব চলছিল। শনিবার সকাল ১১টার দিকে রিয়াদ তার খালাতো ও মামাতো ভাইবোনদের সাথে খেলাধুলা করছিল। একপর্যায়ে সে বাড়ির পাশের সিরাতুন নেছা স্কুলের সামনে কাটাজুলা খালের পানিতে পড়ে তলিয়ে যায়। খোঁজাখুঁজি করে সাড়ে ১১ টার দিকে অচেতন অবস্থায় শিশুটিকে উদ্ধার করে স্বজনেরা কুষ্টিয়া সদর হাসপাতালে নিয়ে গেলে কর্তব্যরত চিকিৎসক মৃত ঘোষণা করেন।

নিহতের নানী রোমেছা খাতুন বলেন, রিয়াদ তার মামার বিয়ে খেতে এসে খালের পানিতে ডুবে মারা গেল। মামাতো ও খালাতো ভাইবোনদের সাথে খেলাধূলা করতে করতে পানিতে পড়ে রিয়াদ।

রিয়াদের বাবা ওসমান গনি বলেন, ওই খাল নিয়ে আমার আগে থেকেই ভয় ছিল। সকালের সতর্ক করে দিয়েছি রিয়াদের মামাকে। ফোনে বলেছিলাম আমার ছেলের দিকে খেয়াল রাখতে। তবুও আমার ছেলে ওই খালে পড়ে মারা গেল।

এ বিষয়ে কুষ্টিয়া মডেল থানার ভারপ্রাপ্ত কর্মকর্তা (ওসি) সাব্বিরুল আলম বলেন, সকালবেলায় খেলাধুলা করতে গিয়ে নানী বাড়ির পাশের খালের পানিতে ডুবে শিশুর মৃত্যু হয়েছে। ময়নাতদন্তের জন্য মরদেহ উদ্ধার করে কুষ্টিয়া জেনারেল হাসপাতালের মর্গে পাঠানো হয়েছে।
