খুলনা মহানগরীর খালিশপুরে স্ত্রীর লাঠির আঘাতে স্বামী মোঃ সোহেল (৩৪) নিহত হয়েছেন।রোববার (১২ সেপ্টেম্বর) দিবাগত রাত ২টার দিকে নগরীর খালিশপুর থানাধীন আলমনগরের বালিয়ার বিল এলাকার নজরুল ইসলাম বাবুলের বাড়িতে এ ঘটনা ঘটে। স্বামী-স্ত্রী ওই বাড়ীর ভাড়াটিয়া।
নিহত সোহেল ওই এলাকার শাহ আলমের ছেলে। পেশায় একজন রাজমিস্ত্রী। এ ঘটনায় অভিযুক্ত স্ত্রী সোনিয়া বেগমকে (২৮) আটক করেছে পুলিশ।
খালিশপুর থানার অফিসার ইনচার্জ (ওসি) মোঃ কামাল হোসেন জানান, রাতে স্বামী-স্ত্রী দুইজনের মধ্যে ঝগড়া হয়। এক পর্যায়ে স্ত্রী লাঠি বা এধরনের কোন বস্তু দিয়ে স্বামীর কপালে আঘাত করে । তাৎক্ষণিক আহত স্বামীকে খালিশপুর ক্লিনিকে নিয়ে যায় তার স্বজনরা। সেখানে তার মৃত্যু হয়। পরে লাশ বাড়িতে নিয়ে আসা হয়।
পুলিশ খবর পেয়ে মরদেহটি উদ্ধার করে ময়নাতদন্তের জন্য খুলনা মেডিকেল কলেজ হাসপাতালে পাঠায়। একইসাথে জিজ্ঞাসাবাদের জন্য তার স্ত্রীকে থানায় নিয়ে আসে। তিনি বলেন, প্রাথমিক জিজ্ঞাসাবাদে স্ত্রী তার স্বামীকে আঘাত করার কথা স্বীকার করেছেন। কিন্তু কি ধরনের বস্তু দিয়ে আঘাত করেছে তা স্বীকার করেনি। তবে নিহত স্বামীর কপালে লাঠি বা ভারী বস্তু দিয়ে আঘাতের চিহ্ন পাওয়া গেছে।
