ভোলা সদর উপজেলার দক্ষিণ-পশ্চিম শিবপুর শরীফ সরদার বাড়ি সরকারি প্রাথমিক বিদ্যালয়ে রাতেও জাতীয় পতাকা উড়তে দেখেন স্থানীয়রা। এ ঘটনা জানাজানি হলে ওই বিদ্যালয়ের প্রধানসহ পাঁচ শিক্ষককে শোকজ করেছেন প্রাথমিক শিক্ষা কর্মকর্তা। একই সঙ্গে আগামী তিন কার্যদিবসের মধ্যে তাদের জবাব চাওয়া হয়েছে।
স্থানীয়রা জানান, সোমবার (১৩ সেপ্টেম্বর) রাত ১০টার দিকে কয়েকজন ব্যক্তি ওই পথ দিয়ে যাওয়ার সময় বিদ্যালয়ে জাতীয় পতাকা উড়ার দৃশ্য দেখতে পান। বিষয়টি ছড়িয়ে পড়লে স্থানীয়রা ভিড় জমান এবং ক্ষুব্ধ হন। বিষয়টি তদন্ত করে ব্যবস্থা গ্রহণের দাবি জানান তারা।
ওই বিদ্যালয়ের প্রধান শিক্ষক মো. ফরিদ উদ্দিন জানান, তিনি একটু অসুস্থ থাকায় স্কুল ছুটির পর বের হয়ে যান বিদ্যালয় থেকে। বিদ্যালয়ের অন্য শিক্ষকদের ভুলের কারণে জাতীয় পতাকা নামানো হয়নি। এছাড়া ভবিষ্যতে এমন ভুল যাতে না হয় সে ব্যাপারে সজাগ থাকবেন তিনি।
মঙ্গলবার (১৪ সেপ্টেম্বর) বেলা সোয়া ১১টার দিকে ভোলা সদর উপজেলার প্রাথমিক শিক্ষা কর্মকর্তা শেখর রঞ্জন ভক্ত বলেন, বিষয়টি শোনার পর আজ সকালে প্রধান শিক্ষক মো. ফরিদ উদ্দিনসহ ওই বিদ্যালয়ের পাঁচজন শিক্ষককে শোকজ করা হয়। আগামী তিনদিনের মধ্যে এ ব্যাপারে তাদের কাছে জবাব চাওয়া হয়েছে। এছাড়া তদন্ত সাপেক্ষে পরবর্তীতে ব্যবস্থা গ্রহণ করা হবে।
